Three Kentucky Proud restaurants in Louisville Cured, Red Hog, and Brasserie Provence – often notice an uptick in business as the first weekend in May attracts thousands to Churchill Downs.

Consider betting on a bay horse to win the Kentucky Derby. Bay-colored horses have been the most successful, earning the garland of roses 56 times (37.6 percent). Bay is the most common horse color, consisting of a reddish-brown body with black mane, tail, lower legs, and sometimes ear tips.
