Former Fayette County tobacco farm

home to 20,000 Christmas trees


Nieman Tree Farm has Fraser firs of all sizes growing on a 48-acre former tobacco farm in eastern Fayette County. In the early 2000s, owner Tom Nieman opted for the Tobacco Buyout and transitioned to Christmas trees. "We took the money and bought trees," he said. "If it wouldn’t have been for that, we probably wouldn't have made it."
