A New Era of Specialty and Emergency Care Is Coming to San Diego

As a valued referral partner, you are among the first to hear this news. The expansion of our new veterinary presence in Southern California is drawing near. The Janice K. Hobbs UC Davis Veterinary Medical Center Southern California building is currently under renovation at 5040 Shoreham Place in San Diego, and is slated to open in fall 2026.

As we get closer to opening, we will have more information for how you can see the new facility and how we will make the transition seamless for you and your referral clients.

The new facility will feature dedicated specialty suites and services including:

• 24/7 Emergency and Critical Care (ER/ICU)

• Advanced Surgery

• Cardiology

• Clinical Pharmacy

• Diagnostic Imaging

• Internal Medicine

• Medical Oncology

• Nephrology/UrologyExtracorporeal Therapies

• Neurology

This state-of-the-art space will also deepen our collaborative partnerships with local veterinarians and expand diagnostic and imaging support for the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance.

Our current center in Sorrento Valley is able to assist with emergencies for some specialties. Please contact us immediately for assistance with your patients who have the following:

• Severe AKI (IRIS Grade IV–V)

• Anuria or severe oliguria

• Life-threatening hyperkalemia (>7.0 mEq/L)

• Severe uremic toxicity

• Toxin ingestion requiring extracorporeal removal (antifreeze, NSAIDs, snake envenomation, drug overdose)

• Cases requiring Total Plasma Exchange (IMHA, ITP, myasthenia gravis)
