An Opportunity, a Vision, and a Compassion for Animals

Dennice Wilson and Choon Neo Siow grew up in very different environments, yet both found a deep connection with the animals around them. They recently gave a transformational gift in support of the Janice K. Hobbs UC Davis Veterinary Medical Center Southern California, which is currently under construction and scheduled to open in 2026.

An Eye to the Future

For Ashley Lahti, caring for animals of every kind is at the heart of everything she does. She is an Animal Health Technician at the UC Veterinary Medical Center, San Diego, with a focus on the center’s cardiology specialty. Ashley’s vision extends beyond the clinic, and her long-term career goal is to work in conservation medicine as a veterinarian, serving wildlife and ecosystems.

Construction Updates: the Foundation Is Set

As the new UC Davis Hobbs Veterinary Center buildout continues, the construction team is laying the foundation and groundwork to begin framing. The floor has been poured, and most major utilities have been installed. We look forward to sharing photos of the new center in our next update.

In the meantime, if you missed it, take a look at the renderings of the new center.

Two Million Ways to Make a Difference

An anonymous donor has generously pledged a $2 million match challenge to help accelerate the project’s goals and add even more state-of-the-art equipment for innovative, transformational veterinary care in Southern California.

Every dollar donated is matched dollar-for-dollar, doubling its impact and helping us open the center fully equipped to change the lives of animals and the people who love them.

This is a remarkable moment to be part of something extraordinary—see how generosity can make twice the difference.
