More Space, More Veterinary Care in Southern California: Expanding in 2026!

The UC Veterinary Medical Center, San Diego has operated as a satellite of the UC Davis William R. Pritchard Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital for more than 25 years. This center will be expanding into a state-of-the-art facility and re-named in 2026. Learn more about the Janice K. Hobbs UC Davis Veterinary Medical Center Southern California.

Fetch a First Look: Our New Veterinary Center Designs Are Here!

As the new center moves toward its planned opening in summer of 2026, the latest architectural renderings offer an exciting glimpse into the future of veterinary care in Southern California. From the moment pets and their families walk through the doors to the many specialized paths of care available to them, the UC Davis Hobbs Veterinary Center will redefine how we deliver compassionate, world-class care for beloved companion animals in Southern California.

Two Million Ways to Make a Difference

An anonymous donor has generously pledged a $2 million match challenge to help accelerate the project’s goals and add even more state-of-the-art equipment for innovative, transformational veterinary care in Southern California.

Every dollar donated is matched dollar for dollar, doubling its impact and helping us open the center fully equipped to change the lives of animals and the people who love them.

This is a remarkable moment to be part of something extraordinary — a chance to see how generosity can make twice the difference.
