Michigan State USBC Bowlers Making a Difference!

“Pay the pig!” is more than a tradition at Michigan State USBC tournaments. It is a way our bowlers give back to the community.

Last year, we proudly raised $133,217.34 for BVL, showing the strength and generosity of our community. Let’s keep it going.

BVL, the Bowling Veterans Link, connects the sport of bowling with programs that directly improve veterans’ lives through innovative therapies, service dogs, and advanced technologies such as immersive wellness experiences.

Important Update Regarding Scratch Participation Confirmation for Michigan State USBC Open & Women's Championships

Michigan State USBC is introducing an additional confirmation step for the upcoming Open and Women’s Championships to ensure clarity and accuracy regarding scratch participation.

Why This Update Matters

Participation in the scratch portion of the tournament must be clearly verified for each bowler. To eliminate confusion and last-minute issues, a new, dedicated scratch participation confirmation letter will now be included as part of the confirmation process.

Michigan State Youth Tournament

The Michigan State Youth Tournament is underway, and our youth bowlers are delivering some incredible performances.

Sportsmanship Shines at State Youth Championship

At the Michigan State USBC Youth Championships, a team of three scratch bowlers showed us the true meaning of the game.

Faced with a missing fourth teammate, they recruited a young sub with a 66 average.

Throughout the tournament, the older boys celebrated every frame with him, high-fiving their newest teammate and ensuring he had the time of his life.

Even in the heat of state competition, these bowlers chose sportsmanship over stats. We applaud your leadership; you truly represent the best of Michigan bowling!

Jim DeGraaf Retires After 55 Years!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the retirement of one of our own. Michigan State USBC Board Member Jim DeGraaf has officially hung up his helmet at the Holland Township Fire Department after an astounding 55-year career. We are so proud and wish you a great retirement.

While done with his day job, he will still be serving as a dedicated Michigan State USBC Board Member.

Celebrating 50 Years of Tournament Participation!

At the Women’s Tournament, we had the pleasure of recognizing Carol Martin on her 50th tournament.

Carol was honored alongside State Director Paul Leonard. Congratulations, Carol, on this incredible achievement and your continued dedication to the sport.
