Please help us welcome one of our new staff members: Madison Finke! Madison is one of our great Community Engagement Managers!
Madison graduated from The Hartt School of Music in Connecticut in 2021 where they majored in Vocal Performance.
Prior to starting with GSCV, Madison was a preschool teacher. In addition to their career, Madison is a fantastic opera performer. You can find them performing at many showcases in Virginia.
In addition to their career, Madison volunteers with many wonderful organizations such as Hampton Roads Pride and Virginia Beach Guinea Pig Rescue. When not in the office, you can find Madison enjoying a concert, trying out a new recipe, and most importantly spending time with their fiancé and friends.
Madison was a Girl Scout for 12 years! Not only were they a Girl Scout, but they were a Bronze, Silver, and Gold Award Recipient during their time in Girl Scouts. Madison is most excited about expanding events and support to the Northern Region of our Council and helping volunteers.
We are thrilled to have Madison on our team! If you have not yet met Madison, make sure you do at the next Girl Scout event.

This year's Fall Product Program begins on Saturday! Girls will have access to the M2 operating system beginning September 10th; troop leaders have access now. If you are having issues, please contact the help desk, gshelper@comgirlscouts.org.

Let's get your troop outside! The Beginning Camping course is designed for leaders and troops who have little camping experience and want to take their troop camping. Upon completion of this course, you will be certified to take your Girl Scout Troop on a camping trip in the backyard, in a permanent structure such as a cabin at a state park, or Girl Scout Camp. The course follows progression in the outdoors and is specifically designed for Daisy, Brownie and Junior Leaders. We can't wait to see you at training! This course takes place in a single day with a required prep video to watch prior to training. You will be sent the video after registration is completed and processed.

Canoe/Kayak/Stand up Paddleboard Training

Cost: $70
By taking the Canoe, Kayak, and Standup Paddleboard (SUP) Certification, you will become certified to bring this experience to girls in your troop, service unit, and special events! Certified adult instructors are required for Girl Scout canoeing, kayaking, and SUP.
Space is limited so be sure to register right away!
You will receive an email from the trainer with details regarding what you will need to bring the day of the training.

The GSUSA Mental Wellness 101 course is now available through your gsLearn account. In this course, you will learn what mental health is and how to recognize the signs of mental health challenges. You will explore different scenarios that young people may experience and learn how you can promote an environment within
Girl Scouts for you and others to thrive and grow. This course is perfect for troop leaders and other adult volunteers who work directly with Girl Scouts. The course will take approximately 25 minutes and you can go at your own pace.

Training for Daisy & Brownie Leaders
Girl Scouts has emphasized the importance of getting outdoors for the past 110 years. Learning about the environment and having fun outdoors helps Girl Scouts build courage, confidence and character to make the world a better place. Growing Up WILD builds on Girl Scout Daisy’s and Brownie’s sense of wonder about nature and invites them to explore wildlife. Through a wide range of activities and experiences, explore differences between living and non-living objects, basic needs and characteristics of plants and animals. Leaders will receive a troop copy of the Growing Up WILD guide along with other resources to help conduct the activities with their troop. The 27 Growing Up WILD activities support many of the Daisy and Brownie badges, including the Outdoor Art, Math in Nature, Camping and more.
