BCC Books & Bagels

Sunday, March 30, 10 am

Join fellow BCC book lovers for our monthly book group meeting on Zoom to discuss Jewish fiction or non-fiction book selections, sometimes with LGBT content. Space is limited. Please contact Larry Nathenson for the Zoom link at larrynath@aol.com.

The book for this month is Tales of the Holy Mysticat, by Rabbi Rachel Adler. A brief exploration of Jewish spirituality through the eyes of the author's cat, cute but also informative and insightful. Rabbi Adler was BCC's student rabbi several years ago and has taught courses for us over the years. Since this book is not available in libraries, contact Larry Nathenson at larrynath@aol.com if you plan to attend and want a copy.

Beginning of Life Series

Sunday, March 30, and Sunday, April 6, 4 pm

Are you a recent college or university graduate trying to figure out your next steps? Are you considering starting a family? Are you concerned about current events and their potential impact on our community? BCC has invited experts in family planning and wealth-building to share their insights with young adults from an LGBTQIA+ perspective.

Session one: "Adulting is Hard. Queer Adulting is Harder: Growing and Protecting your LGBTQ+ Family." In this session, Attorney Amira Hasenbush will guide you through legal considerations you should be addressing when building your family via sperm donation, egg donation, surrogacy or adoption. We will discuss best practices to protect yourselves and your loved ones through all stages of the process from planning to conception to birth and postpartum. Plenty of time will be left for Q&A, so please feel welcome to bring your questions.

Join us on Sunday, March 30, 2025, to learn about family planning, and on Sunday, April 6, 2025, to explore ways to invest and start building wealth that align with your values and goals. Bring your questions! Both sessions will begin at 4 PM, and light refreshments and snacks will be provided.
