We are excited to share how the project is advancing during the last year of construction with a newsletter to highlight project milestones and construction progress.

Goldenwest Street and

Bolsa Avenue

Schedule

Anticipated to open in mid-2023.

The schedule was delayed due to challenges with utility relocation as well as significant weather impacts.

Current Activities

Crews are currently installing drainage and electrical systems.

Upcoming Activities

Activities leading up to the bridge openings include concrete barrier and fencing installation, traffic signal work, and sidewalk, curb and gutter construction. Irrigation, landscaping, final paving and final striping are anticipated for mid-to-late 2023, after the bridges opens to traffic.

Ward Street

Schedule

Anticipated to open in mid-2023.

The schedule was delayed due to challenges with utility relocation as well as significant weather impacts.

Current Activities

Ongoing activities include grading, paving, and electrical work.

Upcoming Activities

Upcoming work includes concrete barrier and fencing installation, traffic signal work, and sidewalk, curb and gutter construction. Irrigation and landscaping installation will begin shortly after the bridge opens.

Brookhurst Street

Schedule

Anticipated to open in mid-2023

Current Activities

Crews are removing falsework from the bridge and concrete and fencing work will begin soon. Additionally, crews will continue traffic signal and pavement work for the intersection at the southbound freeway ramps.

Upcoming Activities

Construction of a raised median and installation of irrigation and landscaping are anticipated for this summer. Final pavement and final striping are anticipated for the fall.

Warner Avenue

Schedule

Anticipated to open in mid-2023

The schedule was delayed due to challenges with utility relocation as well as significant weather.

Current Activities

Crews are focused on concrete barrier, fencing, and sidewalk, curb and gutter work. That will be followed by pavement work to tie in the ramps to the new bridge.

Upcoming Activities

Final paving, striping and concrete finish work are anticipated for summer. Landscaping is anticipated to begin in late spring or summer 2023.
