Capital Adult Education Regional Consortium Program: Medical Assistant Program

El Dorado County faced a critical gap in healthcare workforce development, with no local adult Medical Assistant training programs available prior to 2024 despite growing demand for skilled healthcare professionals. The EDCOE Medical Assistant Program addresses this challenge by providing an accredited, hands-on Career Technical Education pathway developed in partnership with Marshall Medical Center. The program uniquely supports adult learners through individualized coaching, comprehensive student support services, small class sizes, integrated Medical Terminology and Basic Life Support certification, clinical externships, and preparation for both California and national certification exams. Early outcomes demonstrate the program's success, with high graduation, certification, and employment rates, producing workforce-ready Medical Assistants while strengthening the region's healthcare system and expanding access to rewarding, high-demand careers. Building disability-inclusive systems does not require large budgets or sweeping reform.

Digital Leadership Academy 2026 - 2028

Apply to Join the 2026-28 DLAC Cohort

OTAN's Digital Leadership Academy (DLAC) is long-term professional development that builds digital leadership capacity within adult education agencies. This webinar and Q&A will cover DLAC's two-year model which develops teacher leaders who can effectively integrate technology into teaching practices. We will discuss how DLAC equips participants with the knowledge and skills to cultivate a technology-driven atmosphere with their institutions through collaboration, coaching, and equity-driven design.

The application to join OTAN's 2026-28 DLAC cohort is open through August 10, and we will provide more information on how to apply and participate. We will also take your questions about the DLAC application.

DataVista 3.1 Release

The DataVista 3.1 release has been fully deployed on 07.09.26. This release expands DataVista's analytical capabilities with new and updated metrics, a new Insights data view, and a new Data Exchange Portal for K12 Strong Workforce Program (SWP) data partners.

Release 3.1 includes:

• New metrics and updates to existing metrics across reports and data views
• A new Insights data view featuring Equity Charts and Labor Market & Employment Outcomes
• A new Data Exchange Portal enabling K12 SWP data partners to submit CALPADS data files to the Chancellor's Office securely
• New resources and supporting materials to help users navigate, upload data, and interpret the latest updates

2026 ELL HEALTHCARE PATHWAYS CONVENING

Pathways with Purpose: Advancing ELL Healthcare Pathways Programs for Impact and Sustainability

Hosted by the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office, in partnership with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and WestEd, this convening will showcase the impact of the work of ELL HP grantees, highlight progress toward addressing care provider shortages by growing a diverse and more culturally competent healthcare workforce, and share actionable practices to advance programs for impact and sustainability.
