“GoTeach” - A Collaborative Success Story

Consortia Involved:

Feather River Adult Education Consortium

Sierra County Schools for Adults (SCSA) was founded in January of 2019 in the rural Sierra Mountain town of Loyalton. Our school is, and will continue to be, centered around the needs of our community. Excellent quality childcare and early education is always an area of high need in small rural communities and ours was no exception.

Learn more about the “GoTeach” - A Collaborative Success Story model program and visit the Advancing California Adult Education website to view other Model Programs throughout California.

A NEW feature has been added to the NOVA Fiscal Reporting. Agencies that have a Budget Remaining at Q4 will now see a red exclamation mark icon in that box.

The red exclamation mark icon indicates that this is the last report for the fiscal year and that there is still money to spend. It is not an indicator of going over any carryover threshold and is purely informational that there will be some carryover since not all the funds have been spent.

CAEP Summit 2025, taking place September 24–26, 2025, at the Anaheim Marriott in Anaheim, California. This year’s Summit focus—Building Bridges to Success: Innovate, Integrate, Impact—underscores the integrated and impactful strategies California Adult Education Programs are using to expand access, close equity gaps, and support adult learners in reaching their academic and career aspirations.

The California Adult Education Program Summit 2025 is where innovation meets influence. It’s where practitioners and leaders come together to surface bold ideas, elevate breakthrough practices, and drive lasting change across the adult education system.

Articulating Adult Education

Working in Adult Education and teaching Career Technical Education classes, specifically a Business Pathway, I am frequently asked why do you do it, in regards to articulation. There are lots of questions about why should we articulate, how can we articulate, etc.

This article gives a brief history of Adult Education and the ties to Career Technical Education. I continue the discussion with the why's, how's and a timeline, including relevant Ed Code policies. I conclude the discussion with resources.
