“The secret of good teaching is to regard the child’s intelligence as a fertile field in which seeds may be sown, to grow under the heat of flaming imagination. ”

The Heart
by Trey Hall

My report is on the heart. If you put your hand on your wrist, you can feel your heart pumping blood. Your fist is the size of your heart. Arteries are bigger tubes than your veins. Arteries carry blood away from your heart. Veins bring blood back to your heart. Your heart works all day and all night. If you exercise your heart, your heart pumps faster and gives you more energy. Your heart is busy all day long.

Volunteer Opportunities

Art Gallery Opening!
Our fabulous Art Gallery Opening event and huge annual fundraiser will be here before we know it! We still need volunteers and have lots of ways you can help.
Please contact Meg DeMato if you can help with any of the following items, all of which qualify for volunteer hours:

• seek out advertisers (on your own time)
• find donations for the silent auction (on your own time)
• help with class projects (during the school day)
• assist with the gallery installation (during the school day)
• volunteer to help that night (evening commitment)
• pitch in when it is time to take down all the art (weekend project)

Gardening
The Middle School students are working hard on their new vegetable garden, but can use adult help. The soil needs to be removed from the sod and then raked and worked. Once the ground is ready, help may be needed making the raised beds. Please contact Anna Burling at [email protected] if you can help.
