Heart of the Holidays - Ice Carving Demonstration

Saturday, December 18, 2 - 4 PM

Join us Saturday, December 18 from 2 - 4 PM at Port Clinton Square for the last Heart of the Holidays event: an ice carving demonstration from World Class Ice Sculpture and caroling throughout the Central Business District! Enjoy free Mexican hot chocolate and cookies from Highland Park's new Sugarcoated Bakery. Arrive early to purchase tamales from Tamales Express, and choose from a festive selection of beers and cider for purchase from Ravinia Brewing Company, as well as fresh popcorn and other treats from the Ravinia Farmers Market. Then finish up your holiday shopping at the unique shops and restaurants of the Central Business District.

The Heart of the Holidays events are sponsored by the City of Highland Park and Ravinia Festival, with the support of First Bank of Highland Park and Highland Park Bank & Trust.

Business of the Week: The Custom Framer

The Custom Framer is a family business started by Don Glassner and his son Cole in 2013 as an offshoot from their production framing business Art and Company. They sought to combine the purchasing power of a large company with the service and attention to customers' needs that a small business can provide. The staff at The Custom Framer are all experts in their field. The consultants strictly work with customers choosing the best designs. The framers exclusively frame, taking note of all the specific details that make your art truly special. The choppers and joiners are focused on making perfect frames.

FAQ on Face Covering and Vaccination Requirements

On August 26, 2021, the Governor signed Executive Order 21-20 which requires all individuals over the age of 2 and who can medically tolerate a face covering to wear a face-covering when in indoor public places. The Executive Order also requires health care workers, school personnel, higher education personnel and students, and employees and contractors of state-owned or operated congregate facilities to be fully vaccinated, as described in the Order.

Please place this Face Mask Required Sign in your place of business to remind customers to wear a face covering.
