Enjoy Highland Park eNews

Beginning next week, the City is launching a new weekly eNews to share information about Highland Park businesses, promotions, and upcoming events! The Enjoy Highland Park eNews will be delivered to your inbox every Friday afternoon. Businesses should continue to send promotions and events no later than each Wednesday afternoon for inclusion in the Friday Enjoy Highland Park eNews.

In addition, we are changing the format of the Business Development eNews. Beginning next week, the Business Development eNews will contain information and announcements specifically for business owners. Since the Enjoy Highland Park Newsletter will be focused on information about businesses for the public, we will be updating our Business Development eNews list to members of the Highland Park business community. Subscribers who are not affiliated with a Highland Park business will automatically receive business-focused news and promotions in the Enjoy Highland Park eNews on Fridays – no need to sign up again!

City of Highland Park emergency order requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccination for patrons of on-premises dining goes into effect on Friday, January 7, 2022

On December 29, 2021, the City of Highland Park issued an emergency order requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccination for patrons of on-premise dining establishments. This action followed similar orders in Cook County and the City of Chicago. The primary reason for the new regulation is due to the rise in COVID-19 cases, the surge of hospitalizations of COVID-19 cases which also has reached a pandemic peak, and in an effort to protect those most vulnerable. The Illinois Department of Public Health reported that 90% of the patients hospitalized with COVID in recent weeks are not fully vaccinated. Your support and effort are greatly appreciated as we continue to navigate during this challenging time.

If you have any questions or concerns about the mandate, please contact the City Manager’s Office at cityhp@cityhpil.com, or call 847.926.1000.

For information about the mandate, please visit: Welcome to Highland Park, IL (cityhpil.com)

Adopt-A-Planter Program

The City of Highland Park has developed an Adopt-A-Planter Program for business and property owners, in Central Business District, to beautify the City’s planters in a continuing effort to enhance the downtown.

The City is looking for business and property owners to “adopt” a municipal planter as part of this program during the summer and fall seasons each year.

For each adopted planter, participants are encouraged to display a small placard with the Adopter’s name and business as well as the landscaper.

If you would like to become an Adopter for the first time, please contact the Public Works Department Forestry Section at 847.432.0807 to discuss the program.
