Help us choose our Travel Club Adventures for 2026

Top row L-R: Glacier Express, (Switzerland by Rail); Dominican Republic (Caribbean Cruise); Dubai (on Explora); Mykonas (Greek Isles on Explora). Bottom row L-R: Mekong River (Southeast Asia); Panama Canal; Alaska (Denali Explorer); Nova Scotia (Maple Explorer).

Your YMCA Alumni Travel Club Committee and our friends at GoTravel have been working for several months to create diverse, exciting travel options for you in 2026. We’re pushing the envelope with exotic choices in the Middle East and Southeast Asia, European touring via train, cruise ship to new destinations on new ships, and popular “closer to home” cruises to new destinations in the Caribbean, The Last Frontier and Maritime Canada.

Although all specific details for 2026 travel are not yet available, we know enough now to confidently offer any of these adventures to you at rates that won't break the bank. GoTravel can arrange any pre and post trip travel and special excursions to enhance your trip as well as handling your air travel.

Note that prices, when listed, are current 2025 rates. Prices are likely to vary some when 2026 pricing is released this fall. Likewise, itineraries could change slightly as well. Prices do not include airfares.

Our goal is to settle on four of these options in the next several months and be able to offer details and registration for them later in the year. Remember that all your meals are included on cruises and many are included on motor coach tours. Plus, there are numerous other perks, making cruise and group touring very affordable by today's travel costs.

We understand life can sometimes get in the way of long-range planning, so for purposes of this survey, let’s assume “all will be well” for you in 2006.

Please take a few moments to tell us which of these adventures tickles your travel dreams enough for you to consider joining us. We’ll tally the results and finalize the top four choices.

Your vote IMPLIES no obligation whatsoever. We only ask for your name, email and chapter name so we can send you a link to trips you chose that made the final cut in advance of their general release.

Switzerland by Rail: This is a round trip rail journey from Zurich to Zurich. Overnight hotel accommodations are in Zurich, Lucerne, Lausanne, Zermatt, and St. Moritz. The tour includes several Swiss railroads, the highlight of which is the Glacier Express from Zermatt to St. Moritz. Swiss trains run like clockwork, so scenic travel is safe and comfortable. Cost from $3,009 pp. (Our most recent trip on historic Colorado railroads was sold-out and received great reviews from participants.)

Caribbean Cruise: Spend seven nights on the Celebrity Apex, departing from Port Canaveral, FL on March 28, 2026. Port stops include Puerta Plata, Dominican Republic; San Juan, Puerto Rico and St. Kitts Island. The Florida departure and cruise, which includes a beverage package and Wi-Fi, will be a convenient and welcome getaway as winter turns to spring. Fully refundable rates start at $1,481 pp.

Dubai: This is a cruise on Explora, MSC's new luxury cruise ship. The cruise, departing Jan. 26, 2026, is titled “A 7-Night Journey to Emirati Legends and Eternal Landscapes.” Port stops include Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sir Bani Yas, Doha, and Damman. Rates are from $3,825 (for a 377-foot balcony suite with floor-to-ceiling windows). Explora cruises are all-inclusive. Be sure to check out the news story below about Explora.

'An ocean state of mind’

New Explora luxury cruise line gets rave reviews from experts, cruisers

A new luxury cruise line – Explora Journeys – carrying 923 passengers at capacity, has made its debut with two ships (four more on the way) currently plying the Mediterranean and Caribbean waterways. Reviews from cruise travel experts and passengers give new meaning to the word “rave.” It is a standalone luxury concept of MSC Cruises (Mediterranean Shipping Company). Owners say they are not trying to compete with other luxury cruise lines, but more like a floating ultra-luxury hotel experience. Explora eschews a main dining room in favor of six standalone restaurants, each with their own identity. Even the lowest priced tier suite offers 377 feet with a spacious balcony. The pricing is amazingly affordable. Get more info from GoTravel's Bob Cook, who raved about his own experience onboard.

Renew your passport online in beta test ... no guarantees

The State Department is beta testing a new program where eligible Americans can renew their passports online. Only a small number of applications will be accepted during a short mid-day window Eastern Daylight Time, but it may be worth a try for the convenience. No return of old passport nor supporting docs needed. First, you'll need to open a login.gov account. You must be at least 25 years old; have a passport issued between 2009 and 2015 and are renewing within one year of expiration or has expired. (AFAR Daily Wanderer)

Royal Caribbean Group Launches Loyalty Status Match Program Across its Brands

Royal Caribbean Group is introducing a groundbreaking Loyalty Status Match program, allowing members of its loyalty programs – Royal Caribbean International’s Crown & Anchor Society, Celebrity Cruises’ Captain’s Club, and Silversea’s Venetian Society – to enjoy equivalent tier status across all three brands. In other news, Royal Caribbean's newest ship, Utopia of the Seas, debuts in the U.S. this summer offering 3-day weekend and 4-day midweek cruises in the Caribbean, including its "Perfect Day" stop at its private island.
