Keiro announced the results of the community-wide survey on needs around aging. Keiro will begin a series of focus groups in the summer of 2024 to further clarify the survey responses and options for providing support throughout the aging and caregiver journey.

2024 Caregiver Conference

San Fernando Valley Japanese American Community Center

Don't forget to sign up before registration closes! In addition to educational sessions, the Caregiver Conference will feature resource fair vendors specializing in various areas of caregiving.

Attendance will be limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration is required to attend this event and closes on Friday, March 29, 2024.

Spreading GivingTuesday Kindness

Through Keiro’s 2023 Giving Tuesday campaign, the power of generosity shone brightly as we distributed 300 wellness bags to older adults in Our Community throughout February. These bags included items such as personal medical diaries, foot warmers, Japanese snacks, and more.

To every donor who made this possible, your impact is immeasurable. Thank you for touching lives and spreading hope.

Calming Your Worried Mind Presented by Independence at Home, a SCAN Community Service

Tuesday, April 23, 2024 | 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.

We all experience anxiety and stress, but at times these feelings may interfere with our day to day activities. Join this class to learn techniques on how to manage these feelings of anxiety and stress.

Congratulations to all the recipients of the 2023-2024 Grants Program cycle! Keiro awarded almost $300,000 in funds to support 36 nonprofit organizations. Once again, emphasis was placed on supporting programs that enhance one or more of the quality of life elements for older adults and caregivers as defined by Keiro.

Did you know that Alzheimer's and dementia are

not interchangeable terms?

Learning about the two terms and the difference between them is important and can empower individuals living with Alzheimer's or another dementia, their families, and their caregivers with necessary knowledge. Join the conversation, raise awareness, and #TakeOnALZ! Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by these conditions.

The Take on Alzheimer's is a public awareness campaign funded by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). Join Keiro in spreading awareness, as education and conversation are key to making a difference.
