JV  Volleyball

The Cardinals fought hard, but ultimately fell short against the Greenies last week. Highlights include five pass receptions each from Grace G.  ’27, Lily V.  ’27 and Shayde R. ’26Sofia U. ’26 led us in serves tallying three aces and four additional points. Sofia also led our offense with 10 assists. Eleanor E-P.  ’26 and Riley R.  ’26 were strong at the net with five kills each.

We bounced back and were dominant during our match against Warren Easton on Thursday. The Cardinals kept their opponents in single digits both sets. Ellie B.  ’27 got an ace on her jump serve for match point to seal the victory. Notable service performances also go to Shayde R.  ’26 and Marley P.  ’27. Shayde tallied four aces and five additional points on serve while Marley tallied three aces and four additional points. Shayde R.  ’26 also  led our defense with five digs. Eleanor E-P. ’26 was ecstatic to pass in serve receive and managed to get two perfect serve receptions for us. Lastly, Sofia U.  ’26 had eleven assists and was making great connections with Riley R. ’26 at the net. Riley was our kills leader with five and Marley was right behind her with four.

Come support your JV team during their last match at home vs. Willow on Wednesday  JV will start at 4:30 and we will celebrate our seniors on varsity to follow.

Two Races ~ 2 BIG WINS ❤️❤️

?DISTRICT CHAMPIONS ?

?JUNIOR VARSITY CHAMPS?

That's exactly what happened this past Saturday in City Park at the Jack Schommer Invitational held by Brother Martin. The CARDINALS and the entire field of 114 runners were led by the duo of the 1st & 2nd place overall finishers in Leah V. '26 (18:53) and Courtney H. '28 (18:56 ~ PR). The Champions were helped tremendously by Lily V. '27 (20:52 ~ SB) in the 13th spot. Lucy M. '26 (21:54) & Colette E. '27 (22:04) rounded out our Top 5 scoring runners with their 24th & 26th finishes. Libby S. '26 ran the majority of her 3 miles with a bloody blister on her big toe and pushed through in a time of 22:32 for 36th. Our 7th runner, Vivian R. '26, experienced a severe side stitch during her last 2 miles, yet continued to push forward through the finish line, a true sign of a warrior. In the JV race 1 hour later, the duo of Molly O. '28 (22:06) & Rosie V. '28 (22:07) ran the entirety of the 3 mile course step by step and pushed each other to an outstanding 2nd & 3rd place overall. Abby T. '26 (22:29) pushed herself and the entire field early by leading for the first 1 1⁄2 miles before slowing ever so slightly and finished in 4th place. Reese T. '26 (22:55) in 6th, just missed her personal record by 1 second. Edie Y. '26 & Jane F. '26 ran 5th and 6th for the team and helped secure the JV's victory. The CARDINALS will compete this Thursday in Hammond at the North Shore Metro Championship at St. Thomas Aquinas High School ❤️❤️
