No one can return to his original position by himself. You Unification Church members should know very clearly that you are cast in the role of Abel, but that you cannot return to God without taking Cain with you. God will not accept you alone. When Abel wins the heart of Cain and unites with him, they serve in a savior's role together. Only in that position can the true parents' role be restored.

Jerry Heying gave the sermon last Sunday at the Newfoundland church, sharing his testimonies about his experiences as part of the security team protecting True Father and the True Family for three decades. He joined the Unification Church 50 years ago, in September 1975. His brother called him from the camp in Booneville, California and invited him to the weekend workshop.
From November 1975 he lived at Jacob House near East Garden. He was with True Parents providing security for world tours, including 24 speaking events in one year, and 120 country speaking events over several years. He has been supporting Hyung Jin Nim as Father’s anointed heir since 2013.

Jerry realized that it is not important to be physically close. To be spiritually close is most important. There is a saying, “It’s always darkest just beneath the lighthouse.”
He never says that True Father is “dead.” No, True Father is eternally alive in the spirit world. Even though Hyung Jin Nim is in Taiwan, we can still be closely connected with him!
One time Father gathered the East Garden staff and spoke to them about the importance of security. He said, “I can’t give you too much love, because if I gave too much attention it would be unfair to brothers and sisters around the world.”

He had to train himself to think, “I’m here on behalf of brothers and sisters, it’s not about me.” He showed photos of the Belvedere Carriage House in Tarrytown where Father often spoke. If he could, he would sit right up front. One time he was so close Father stepped on his foot. Other times he could feel Father’s spit on his face, decided not to wipe it off for as long as possible.
One time Father was speaking to a relatively small group at Belvedere. He had everyone laughing. He felt they were all in the heart of God.

He showed a photo of Hyung Jin Nim’s blessing. Father said “I named my youngest son ‘Hyung’ (an honorific) in case my family needs to be restored.” Prophetic since there were 2 more children born later, who were girls, but he knew that Hyung Jin Nim was the last son.
When Tiger Park, an early beloved 36 couple, who was leader of CARP, passed away. Dr. Durst said to Father, “sorry about Tiger Park passing.” Father responded, “Sorry? He’s so lucky to go to the spirit world. If you could peak into heaven, it would take 10,000 horses to pull you back!” Since we are eternal beings aligned with the will of God, we have no reason to mourn brothers or sisters who pass on. As the Scripture says in Revelation 21:4, “God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

During the early 1980s, Jerry was in the New York City courtroom when Father was convicted and sentenced for a failure to pay $7,250 in taxes on funds used for church activities over a three-year period. After the sentence was announced, Father walked up to the chief prosecutor to shake his hand, but he just walked off. While Father was in Danbury prison, Dr. Bo Hi Pak was kidnapped. Jerry was asked to be the lead contact with the FBI. He was with the FBI when Dr. Pak escaped and they arrested the leader of the conspiracy.

In April 1988, a state trooper in NJ looked inside a car at a truck stop in New Jersey and saw bomb-making materials. After the driver was arrested, they learned Father’s name was on his kill list. He was a member of the Japanese Red Army, outsourced by Korean terrorists. Jerry later learned that this terrorist had visited Morning Garden in Gloucester. He was convicted and given a 30-year prison sentence. After that, he was deported to Japan, where he was imprisoned for many additional years.

Jerry was part of security for Father’s tour in 9 Korean cities. This was the first time he spoke openly about being the 2nd Coming and the first time they used metal detectors to screen the audience. Some people would see the detectors and then turn around and leave.
Another time Father was warned about the threat of a terrorist attack from Libya. Father asked for 21 security brothers to stay at East Garden for 21 days. During this time Jerry would see the light go out in Father’s bedroom at 1:30am and then turn on around 3:30am. So Father would sleep for only 2 hours a night.
Jerry referred to a passage in the Cheon Seong Gyeong on page 1991about the Pacific Rim Providence about Father's efforts to bring the unity of the 3 "Archangel" nations, the Soviet Union, China and the United States. It is no coincidence that Hyung Jin Nim is now in Taiwan to bring about liberation and peace for the same reason. He concluded by reading the last line of the Blessing of Glory anthem, “I can never stop feeling how unworthy am I!!"
