Warm Welcome to Our New ICC Chair, John Barr

Please join us in welcoming our new IEEE Conferences Committee Chair, John Barr, for 2025! John Barr (Life Fellow, IEEE) retired from Agilent Technologies/Hewlett Packard, having served in various engineering R&D roles, including as the R&D Manager/Director for Agilent’s Wireless Semiconductor Test Solutions.

John was involved in developing and designing RF and Microwave component measurement systems. This work led to five patents and ten published papers. He is active in the Microwave Theory & Technology Society (MTT-S) as an Honorary Life Member of the AdCom and previously served as President. John was the General Chair of the 2006 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium (IMS) and the 2012 IEEE Radio &Wireless Week (RWW). At the IEEE institute level, John was an IEEE Director and Treasurer on the IEEE Board of Directors in 2013-2014 and previously served as the TAB Treasurer, member of the IEEE Finance Committee, and Chair of the PSPB/TAB Products & Services Committee.

We are excited for 2025 and grateful to have John Barr as our ICC Chair!

Coming Next Month: Single Sign-On Implementation for Conference Application & Publication Form Submissions

Starting in February, users will access the IEEE Conference Application and Conference Publication pages using IEEE’s Single Sign-On tool.

This update will help keep our websites secure and safe while providing users with the added benefit of a single login for IEEE Applications.

In the initial phase, and to enhance security and authentication, the IEEE Conference Application and Conference Publication forms will necessitate that volunteers possess an IEEE Web Account to submit their applications.

To sign up for a free IEEE Web Account, please visit: https://www.ieee.org/about/help/my-account/web-account.html

Stay tuned for additional updates, and if you have any questions, please contact the CEE Team.
