Dear STEM Community,


It is hard to believe how fast the school year is progressing! Students and staff have accomplished so much in the first months of school and there is no slowing down as we head into the holiday season and end the first semester. As we embark on this upcoming week of "thanks," it is relevant to reflect on the plethora of examples that surround our community daily. From enrichment opportunities and events beyond our school hours to the countless support from parents, staff, and students, I am appreciative and thankful for our diverse community, perspectives, and engagement.


Parent engagement resonates within our Strategic Plan as well. Whether we strive to promote community alignment, funding opportunities, staff support, distributive leadership, or parent trust, each strategic goal relates to building an engaged and supportive community. We are thinking deeply about our overall goals, and the Parent Trust team has proposed a modification to the title Parent Engagement which better aligns with and reflects our goals of building a trustful community. The following depicts some of our current data related to engagement:

Secondary Candy Grams!

Hey Spartans,


The holiday season is just around the corner, and High School Student Government is here to help! 


We'll be selling Holiday-Themed Candy Grams at each lunch from November 28-December 7. Each purchase will come with a custom message alongside some other holiday-themed messages. 


After the selling date, we'll deliver the following week to your 8th and 9th-period classes. 


Below is the pricing for what we are selling:


  • Candy Cane (Small) - $2 (3 for $5)
  • Candy Cane (Jumbo) - $5
  • Mug and Cocoa - $10

Holiday Gift Card Program is Back!

Our STEM Gift Card Program continues to be a HIT so we will bring it back again, just in time for the holiday season. The program allows STEM families to donate toward the purchase of gift cards to be given to STEM staff. Participating in the STEM Gift Card Program is the PERFECT way to thank all of our hard-working teachers and staff!

Here's how the program works: 

Place your order here by clicking the Buy Now Button on the page via the button below.


Type in the dollar amount you want to donate to a general fund (used to purchase gift cards for ALL STEM staff). The STEM Elf will do the gift card shopping! 


Gift cards will be delivered to staff before winter break along with a card “signed” by all families who donate to purchase staff gift cards.


Be sure to place your order (NO CASH) via the school link by December 15th.


Gift cards will be ordered on December 16

Staff will receive their gifts on December 22

Charlotte and I are such good friends we always joke around, but whenever I'm sad or anyone else is sad, she is always there. She is an amazing friend to have we always joke around, and I hope we will always be friends.

CC is always a good friend to everyone. No matter what, she will always show you respect and empathy. She's a loyal, honest, and loving friend.


Mehar Soni

Empathy

When something happens, Mehar always reaches out and asks if you are okay. She is very nice and caring. Like she did for me.


Madison Lassers

I chose empathy because if you ever need to talk to someone, she's the person. She's always there to talk and listen. And she makes sure everyone is happy, and she'll never let you down:) she's one of my best friends, and I'm glad I met her.

Mihai does all his assignments all the time and is always motivated to go above and beyond to help other students out.


Sami Campbell

Empathy

Sami is always here for me, and whenever I am having any trouble, she always helps me out. She is a very good friend and is very kind.


Luna Howell

Respect & Honesty

Luna respects everyone and is kind, she is a great friend. She listens to you and talks to you. She cheers you up when you're sad. She is the best friend ever.

Although Luna might be fun and silly sometimes, she'll always be honest. She's someone you can reach out to, and she'll never tell anyone your secret.


Ben Grossman

Responsibility

Ben put together a slideshow for the administration to bring problems and solutions to the forefront to help ease student anxiety at STEM around the new grading policy. 


Ishika Singh

Empathy

Ishika is always kind and shows care for other people. She's appreciative of everyone around her and will always make you laugh or laugh with you, even when she's down.
