Check-In with Interim KOSON CEO Dr. Karen Johnson

Dear STEM School Highlands Ranch Families, Students and Staff,

As Spring finally comes into full force, we see more energy and excitement from students and staff. There are a number of events taking place that help us celebrate our student’s accomplishments and our continued focus on building community. We are also in the testing season, which we recognize may add additional stress in varying ways. Our staff is continually focused on the social and emotional needs of students throughout each day. We do expect that the next few weeks will have their share of highs and lows, so please reach out to us and/or the Center for Strength for assistance as needed.

As communicated in the past, we may be seeing and hearing media coverage related to the events of May 7th and an ongoing litigation process between STEM and the Castillo family.

Student Shout-Outs!

We want to celebrate our students and for our students to celebrate each other. Give a Shout-Out to a fellow classmate!

 Gabe Scoville

Respect

He is very kind and respects every decision I make.

Zain Kazazean

Respect

Zain is an amazing friend, he's always there when I need him, and he always finds a way to bring my mood up. He's so funny and smart, I remember one day when I was talking with him, and that was the hardest that I had ever laughed, and he's so smart. He knows a lot of random facts, speaks 3 languages fluently, and understands over 6. When I ask him for advice, he always finds a way, and when I just want to have someone to listen to me, he hears me out and doesn't immediately try to find a solution because a lot of the time I don't want a solution, I just want someone to listen to me. So I would really like to thank Zain for everything that he does, not only for me but for everyone.

Anjali Rao

Respect

She made it to Stanford. Mad respect.

Mady Eidman

Honesty

She said my hair was cute today

Yash Aradhya

Honesty

He was honest and told the truth

Alyssa Figeoura

Honesty

She's always honest and is on task during school. She doesn't talk about tea to her friends, and is quiet and loves to stay away from drama.

Mehar Soni

Respect

Mehar is such an amazing friend. She is also there to talk and joke around. I love hanging out with her (except when she has chicken nuggets-she'll know why). She's also there whenever you're going through something she'll help you through it and give you advice.

Peter Mancuso

Respect

Peter doesn't talk badly about anyone and will be kind to everyone

Niranjan Pillai

Empathy

He helped me feel better when I was feeling lonely and sad
