Halloween Potluck Oct 19th 6pm

Saturday October 19th, join us at 6pm for some fellowship and spooky fun. Bring a dish to share - no need to sign up, it's a true pot LUCK!

Wear a costume if you like, or grab a prop from our box. We can't wait to see what creative and fun outfits arrive.

We will have a fun slime making station and games for kiddos (and the young at heart). We hope to see you there!

Sunday Worship Service 10/20 at 10am

This Sunday at First Parish of Norwell we are talking all about Celebrating Differences as part of our year-long theme: "Free to Be You and Me."

Our Junior Youth Group will be meeting this afternoon in Fogg Parlor from 5-6:30pm.

We will also be collecting personal care and baby care items for the migrant families sheltering in Rockland on October 20th during the service. During coffee hour from 11:15-11:30, we will have a quick project: "fun kits" with stickers and markers to assemble for the 40 children living at the shelter.

We invite everyone to bring one item from the list below, given to us by the services coordinator at the shelter:

  • Body Lotion
  • Body Soap (bars/liquid)
  • Comb
  • Feminine Hygiene (tampons/pads)
  • Deodorant
  • Hairbrush
  • Hair Conditioner
  • Laundry Detergent
  • Shampoo
  • Shaving Cream
  • Toothbrush
  • Toothpaste
  • Mouth wash
  • Baby formula
  • Diapers size 3-6

Please send your joys and concerns to Rev. Susan by 9 am on Sunday. Be sure to tell her if your news can be shared with the congregation, or if you would prefer she keep it private. As always, you may also write your joy or concern on a card that the usher will collect during the offering.

Inspiration and Justice through Art

This Thursday, October 24th Rev. Susan leads the monthly lunchtime gathering “Inspiration and Justice through Art.” Each session provides an opportunity to learn about an artist and how they are expressing their faith/spirituality through their work.

Bad Faith Screening

Next Sunday, October 27th the Helen Fogg Outreach Committee welcomes everyone to a screening of the 2024 documentary Bad Faith on Sunday October 27th at 5pm in the Parish Hall.

Recommended by folks like Ken Burns and Rev. Dr. William Barber, this timely documentary exposes how Christian Nationalism became the most powerful political force in the nation. Its infiltration and eventual hijacking of the Republican Party have given it an unparalleled ability to destroy democracy from within.
