Qui fait Quoi has just published the June 2025 edition of its magazine. Available online in digital PDF format (79 pages), this 452nd edition features reports on the National Film Board of Canada's 2025-2028 strategic plan, as well as an extensive interview with Suzanne Guèvremont, its Chair and Government Film Commissioner, Bill 109, entitled Loi affirmant la souveraineté culturelle du Québec et édictant la Loi sur la découvrabilité des contenus culturels francophones dans l'environnement numérique, the feature film “Fanny” (Téléfiction, Yan England, Stéphanie Lapointe), and a first series of articles derived from EXPO-SCÈNE, the annual event run by the Canadian Institute for Theatre Technology (CITT/ICTS).

Safe Stages

Requests for Proposals

Submission Deadline: July 15, 2025.


The Safe Stages committee (formed by CITT Alberta) has developed the following requests for proposals seeking help with the web development and mental health writing for Safe Stages.


Development of Additional Chapters for Safe Stages

CITT Alberta seeks qualified authors and subject matter experts to contribute to the expansion of the Safe Stages document, a resource focused on health and safety in live theatre environments. This expansion aims to introduce new chapters addressing mental health, psychological hazards, emotional hazards, quality of life improvements, and social hazards specifically affecting live entertainment technicians and theatre professionals.


Development of an Online Reference for Safe Stages

CITT Alberta seeks qualified web developers to design and implement an online reference platform for the Safe Stages document, including its newly developed chapters. The goal is to create an interactive, user-friendly, and easily maintainable online resource similar to a Wiki page that provides structured access to the health and safety guidelines for live theatre professionals.

Live Design looked into the details of what it takes to host a Cirque residence in a venue which is decidedly not custom designed for the Canadian entertainment giant.

Pyrotechnics Safety and Legal Awareness Virtual Course (in English)

Special Effect Pyrotechnics (Type F.3) are high-hazard pyrotechnics articles designed for use by professionals. These articles include items such as Gerbs, Mines, and Comets. These articles would be used in theatre productions, concerts and on film sets. This course is the mandatory first step to a certification as Pyrotechnician - Fireworks/Operator by the Explosives Regulatory Division (ERD). This is a Federal certification, required and recognized from Coast to Coast.
