This month has been a fantastic success for our youth programming! 🎉 With a wide variety of activities to choose from, our young residents have stayed active, engaged, and, most importantly, had a lot of fun! From sports and games to creative workshops, there’s been something for every child to enjoy.

Practice Layout: Each practice session will be divided into two parts: the first half focuses on drills and fun activities, while the second half is dedicated to playing games.

Babcock Speed & Agility
Come join D1 Training Fort Myers for Speed and agility workouts at the Community Park in Babcock Ranch. In this camp, we will implement proper running techniques, increase linear and lateral speed, and work on overall conditioning. We welcome all athletes and non-athletes to join us!

Parks and Rec is excited to announce the Creative Curiosity Fall Break Camp. Over three days, art and science will collide for an unforgettable fun and learning experience. We are thrilled to have Maggie from the Creatures and Canvas Summer Art Camp back to teach the lessons!
This camp is perfect for young artists and scientists eager to explore the world of elements through a mix of crafts, experiments, and games.

We are excited to announce our August Youth Hero, Liam Johnson!
Liam is involved in multiple sports in Parks and Recreation here in Babcock Ranch. The two sports he loves the most is baseball and flag football! He is always outside playing a sport or training with one of the high school players in baseball. He looks up to the high school football and baseball players who take the time to work with him. He is always building his team up, has great sportsmanship, and makes sure no one ever leaves him feeling anything but joy! He has a huge smile that lights up a room.
Liam is a professional hugger and leaves those around him feeling so special by his acts of kindness! He always involves everyone and believes in inclusion and community. Every Wednesday, you will find Liam at Special Olympics volunteering and practicing with our athletes. Liam will do anything to help anyone and wants everyone to always be happy!

Beginning in Fall, Parks and Rec invites kids to play in a recreational co-ed baseball youth program where their main focus is learning and fun! Players will have the chance to learn the fundamentals of baseball in addition to experiencing teamwork and socializing.

Adult Beginner Tennis
Parks and Rec is excited to announce a new Adult Beginner's Tennis Clinic. Bring your A-Game! This 8-week clinic is designed for new to the sport adults. It will take attendees through the fundamentals of tennis, focusing on forehands, backhands, serves, and volleys. The goal will be to sustain a rally and move into point play.

Junior Beginner Tennis
Parks and Rec is exited to announce a new Beginner Junior Tennis Clinic.
This 8-week clinic is for Middle School and up players who are new to the sport. It is designed to teach students the fundamentals of tennis in a fun environment. The focus will be on the forehand, backhand, serve, and volley. The goal is to sustain a rally and begin point play.

Power Yoga
Parks and Recreation is excited to announce POWER YOGA is here with a brand new teacher!
Come prepared to sweat! This class is based on the Baptiste Journey Into Power Flow. Class pace is moderate to fast paced. Practice includes Sun Salutations to build strength and heat in the body, twists, balancing poses, igniting poses such as back bends, abdominal work, hip openers, and more...all leading up to the final deep rest pose - savasana.
All levels welcome. Please bring a towel, mat, and water.

Cheer and Tumbling Program
Beginner Class:
Join us for a 7-week program that will teach your athlete the fundamentals of cheer and tumbling this fall. Students ages 5-11 year olds will learn the basics of both cheer and tumbling and will learn a routine that will be performed for parents and friends at the completion of our program.
Intermediate Class:
Join us for a 7-week program that will build on the skills you have already mastered in cheer and tumbling. This program is ideal for the athlete who has experience in cheer or tumbling, can perform a cartwheel and/or round-off, and is working toward a back walkover and/or back handspring. At the end of the 7-week program, your athlete will perform a routine alongside all athletes in the program, showcasing their progression and new skill set!
When: Mondays August 5th - September 16th

Tai Chi In September
Tai Chi is a great therapeutic art that has been medically proven to offer many health benefits. It involves physical and meditative training, by utilizing specific traditional exercises, postures, and techniques. The goal is to strengthen the body, sharpen the mind, and lift-up the spirit, with the ultimate objective of developing ones’ natural energy to improve total well-being.
This fun low impact class will not leave you breathless, however it will help you stay healthy and improve your strength, mobility, fitness, balance, flexibility, and coordination. All levels welcome. Ages: 16+

Hip Hop Dance Program
Hip Hop dance refers to dance styles primarily danced to Hip Hop music or that have evolved as part of the Hip Hop culture. In this course we will explore the different styles from: Popping, Locking, House, Breaking, Vogueing and others. In these classes we aim to spark their interest in dance while providing them a judgement free environment to grow among their peers. This class is focused on introducing dancers to basic music listening skills, body awareness, and understanding of hip hop fundamentals. Let's get ready to dance! Ages 6-12 years.

September Youth Jiu Jitsu
The Babcock Jiu Jitsu Club integrates; self-defense techniques, conditioning, and skill-oriented games aiming to improve your child's motor skills, agility, and flexibility. BJJC offers fun classes for youth that teach discipline and help build confidence, as well as adult classes that teach the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
