Changes to our Church Staff

Amanda Englehart, our office Administrative Assistant, has resigned from Faith United to pursue an accounting position. Her last day was January 23. While we look for a new staff member, we have Beth Wilson, Julie Kirker, and Sue Schillings filling in as interims. Joe Andrews is taking over the website content duties.

They can be contacted via shared email, [email protected].

For Navigator, Announcements and other communication/marketing requests, please email [email protected].

At Faith United we care for one another! We care about those worshiping in person and online. We care about those who are out and about and we care about those who are homebound, in nursing homes, or in Senior Living facilities.

Do you know someone who is homebound or living in a nursing home and connected with our congregation? We are currently in the process of launching a new version of visitation ministry, and want to make sure that our lists are up to date! For someone to be added to the list, please follow this process:

Step 1: If the individual is not you, check with the individual about being added to our Homebound or Nursing Home / Senior Living lists. Let them know that this provides increased opportunity for one of our (soon to be) visitation team members to visit them, bring them communion, etc. In addition, this will make sure that they are on the pastor lists for visitation.

Step 2: That individual, or a member of that individual's family, will then call the church office and request to be added to the list. The church office will then confirm contact information for that person including an address and phone number.

In addition, if you would like to be a member of our visitation team, please reach out to Pastor Jake! This is a great way to serve God and the Church!

Group Leaders. Child Care Providers. Committee Members. Worship Team Leaders. Office Ministry Volunteers. Hospitality Ministry Volunteers. ALL Volunteers in any and all areas of Church life are encouraged to attend our annual leadership training!

Faith United could not do all that we do without your leadership! We want to make sure that you are equipped and empowered in the best ways for 2023.

The annual leadership training is an important opportunity to remember best practices, to learn about changes, and to do the best we can to serve the community God has entrusted to us!

Faith and Environment Weekly

The world produces and discards 360 million tons of plastics a year. California has the nation’s most comprehensive plastic pollution reduction plan.

This landmark legislation is a step toward a plastic-free country, requiring all single-use plastic packaging and utensils to be recyclable or compostable, and requires at least 25% reduction in plastic waste over the next decade. It measurably reduces the impact of plastics to our environment, and also forces the plastics industry to acknowledge and pay for the harm done to people and nature.

California recognized the exponential rise in plastic pollution that is warming our planet, choking our waterways, polluting our air and contaminating our food and bodies, and built an alliance to reverse that trend. They established a leadership team to author the bill in the state senate, including a State Senator and the Natural Resources committee, and built a coalition that included CalRecycle, the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Ocean Conservancy, and Oceana, among many others.

The California state senate recognized the problem, established leadership, and built a coalition to get it done; Ohio can do that too.

The Takeaway - It’s up to us, the citizens of Ohio, to demand a plastic-free state; tell your state representatives.
