Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Our team was at the National Night Out last night to celebrate the partnership between our local 19th Precinct and the community. We had popcorn, coloring books for the kids, masks, hand sanitizer and plenty of fun.

In the Assembly, we passed legislation to renew and expand the speed safety camera program in New York City. Areas with cameras have seen a 72% reduction in speeding and data has shown that speeding is the cause of 80% of fatal crashes in New York City.  We passed legislation to allow speed cameras to operate 24/7 beginning August 1st, year-round through at least 2025. Nearly one-third of on-street traffic fatalities occurred in camera zones at times when cameras were previously not permitted to operate.  I was proud to vote to pass the legislation to keep the cameras operational 24/7 to keep streets safer.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to our community office if we can be of assistance.
