GREAT TURNOUT IN SARASOTA

We’d like to thank everybody who came out to the Suncoast Boat Show in Sarasota. The Intrepid Nation showed up in force, and your support meant so much to the Intrepid team. As always, we had a great time catching up with boaters and introducing them to our lineup of new models.

OWNERS RENDEZVOUS UPDATE

Reservations have filled up fast for our Owners Rendezvous on July 13-16, and new registrations are currently being added to the waiting list. We would love for everyone to be able to attend, but there is a limit to how many boats can be accommodated.

The good news is that Ocean Reef Club has construction underway, so we are hopeful that we will be able to take even more people next year.

MERCURY CONTINUES TO POWER INNOVATION

Mercury Marine has been reaching new heights of power and performance with some amazing outboard engines. The company has a long-standing reputation for new designs and technologies, and that complements Intrepid’s commitment to innovation.

400 V10

600 V12

The recent advancements started with the 600 hp V12. This dual prop engine is extremely quiet, efficient and creates amazing stern lift, especially for heavier boats. Then Mercury introduced the 400 hp V10, which is an equally impressive engine.

The first question from customers is should I get the new engines or should I wait till they get the bugs worked out? This is really a fair question with new technologies and products. But we think Mercury has really knocked it out of the park with both engines, and we're just not having issues in the field.

Congratulations to Mercury. You killed it again.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE…

GREAT FINALE TO THE BOAT SHOW SEASON

After a busy season including events in Stuart, Miami, and Palm Beach, we enjoyed participating in the Suncoast Boat Show in Sarasota. The great setting and smaller scale of this show make it a unique experience that brings people back year after year.

Thank you to all who visited. We learn so much by hearing about your boating experiences and are always encouraged by your enthusiasm and loyalty.

CELEBRATE SUMMER ON THE WATER

Blue skies, warm weather and calm waters are back, so it’s time for the summer boating season. Spending time with family and friends on your Intrepid creates memories that last a lifetime.

Judging from what we heard from owners at recent boat shows, many of you already have big boating travel plans to beautiful destinations around Florida and the Bahamas in the coming months. And, I’m sure our friends in the Northeast and Great Lakes as well. Here at Intrepid we wish you all the best for the summer season and keep making those priceless memories.

Best,

Alex Rizo

THE CAPTAIN'S CORNER

PREPARATION FOR THE

SUMMER BOATING SEASON

Spring is an exciting time for anyone in the northern latitudes who has had their boat in storage for a long winter. Next month, the northern summer boating season will begin, and everyone's who's been waiting patiently will finally be able to get back on the water to enjoy all that boating has to offer.

If there are any last-minute projects that need to be finished, now is the time for that. We can lend assistance if necessary, so give us a call and we'll do our best to help you get your boat back in tip-top condition for a great summer of boating fun.

HELPFUL RESOURCES FROM AMERICA’S BOATING CLUB

Along with the fun comes a need for safety on the water. I can't say enough about how important it is to keep everyone as safe and comfortable as possible when on board. It's never too late to learn something about boating safety.

The U.S. Power Squadron is an organization that devotes itself to this goal through education and fellowship. It’s also known as America’s Boating Club. There are many resources available in the way of courses and seminars that are very useful and can enhance the knowledge of even the most experienced boaters.

The America’s Boating Club app is very useful as well, with many resources just a click away. You can download this app at the App Store or Google Play using the link below.

We supply an EPIRB with all our new boat deliveries. As an adjunct to your EPIRB, modern marine VHF radios now feature Digital Selective Calling (DSC) that provide automated distress hailing. To be able to use this feature your VHF must be programmed with a unique code called a Maritime Mobile Service Identity, or MMSI. Instructions for obtaining this code are available at the link below:

This is a free resource that can add redundancy to your emergency plan and is just one of the many ways that the America’s Boating Club app can help make your boating season a little safer.

STAY IN TOUCH. STAY INFORMED.

Feel free to call or email me with any questions or concerns you may have about any of our boats. If you should find yourself in the St. Pete / Clearwater area, you can me contact me to arrange a tour of our factory. We have 400 people here who put their hearts into building our boats every day. It's quite a process and I'd love to show you how we do it. We always have something new going on so, even if you were here last month, you’ll be sure to see some new and interesting projects in the works.

Happy Boating,
Joe
