Dear Xenia Community Schools Families,
In today's email, I want to ensure that every XCS family knows we are on the ballot next week! If you have not already voted, I strongly encourage you to make your voice heard.
Because election day is next Tuesday, November 8, I wanted to share one of my first Superintendent Minutes that focused on Issues 3 and 4 that will be on your ballot. Take a minute to watch this video to learn more about what these operating levy renewals mean for you and your students:
| | |
As you can tell from the video, Issues 3 and 4 are levy renewals for the district, which means they are NOT new taxes. These operating levies support the day-to-day costs of operating our schools just as we are now. These funds support critical student needs, such as transportation, athletics, our gifted program, and even salaries for teachers, aides, nurses, counselors, and other staff.
If you still have questions, you can find more information about the ballot issues at XeniaSchools.org.

Of course, this has also been a fun and busy week for our students. From costume contests to the Pumpkin Palooza at the high school to support the annual Baskets for Battle service project, students had an incredibly full week. You can see and read more about these happenings below.
Finally, like all of you, I am incredibly proud of our varsity football program, and I would be remiss to let the week go by without mentioning the team. Regardless of the outcome of last week's playoff game, these students and coaches worked incredibly hard and made school history with their season. So, as always, GO BUCS!

Our Cox Elementary students got into the spirit of the season with costumes for Halloween on Monday, October 31. We hope that every XCS family had a safe and fun — if rainy! — Trick or Treat this week.
