The CSCRL recently funded travel for Maddie Dorish and Alua Bekbossynova to the University of Arkansas-Walton School of Business to attend the Women Impacting Supply Chain Excellence (WISE) Symposium.
Young female supply chain majors from across the country united to learn from other students, professors and industry professionals about what it means to be a woman in the supply chain industry. Students gained insightful knowledge from some of the most impactful and influential women working in the industry today. Speakers encouraged young women to allow themselves to be both bold and vulnerable, and to go after their goals without hesitation. Students learned that confidence is a choice that is made daily.
CEOs, presidents and executives from J.B. Hunt, Sam’s Club, Walmart and other large companies presented on the future of the supply chain industry and what female leaders can do to improve it and make a lasting impact. The advice provided by experienced women at the symposium will guide Maddie and Alua through their future careers as they navigate the field, while empowering and paving the way for other women.
