Council Updates

Unofficial May 6 Election Results

Unofficial election results indicate that Bruce Arfsten will be Addison's next Mayor and Nancy Craig, Dan Liscio, and Marlin Willesen will be the Town's new Council Members. The image above includes results from early voting and votes cast on Election Day at the Addison Conference Centre. You can find the final vote tally on the Dallas County Elections website.


Election results will be canvassed at a special meeting on May 17. The May 17 meeting is scheduled to begin at 6pm and will be held at Addison Town Hall, 5300 Belt Line Road.

Upcoming Public Hearings


The following Public Hearing will take place at the May 16 Planning and Zoning (P&Z) Meeting. P&Z Meetings are now held at the Addison Conference Centre at 15650 Addison Road. The agenda will be posted on the Town's website three days before the meeting.


Case 1868-SUP/5555 Celestial Road (White Rock Chapel). Hold a Public Hearing, Present, Discuss, and Consider Action on a Request for a Special Use Permit (SUP) to allow a Religious Institution on 1.28± Acres Located at the Northwest Corner of Celestial Road and Winnwood Road (5555 Celestial Road), that is currently zoned Planned Development (PD), through Ordinance No. O91-083.

Electronic Public Comment Now Available on Town's Website


Giving feedback on a Public Hearing or sharing feedback with Council just got easier. There is now an electronic public comment form available on the agenda page of the Town's website that allows anyone to share comments and feedback to the City Council and/or the Planning and Zoning Commission. Please submit comments by 3pm on the day of the meeting.

Beth Van Duyne Selects Addison for District Office

On Friday, May 5, the Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne's District Office at 14951 Dallas North Parkway. Mayor Pro Tempore Kathryn Wheeler, who was joined by Council Members Darren Gardner and Eileen Resnik, thanked Congresswoman Van Duyne for choosing to locate in Addison. The District Office provides a number of services for constituents. Find all the details, along with contact information, on Congresswoman Van Duyne's website.

Volunteers from Dominion Payroll Spruce up the Community Garden

On May 9, Dominion Payroll employees volunteered to clean the Addison Community Garden as part of the corporate cleanup volunteer program. Many thanks to the team who dedicated three hours to beautifying this garden.

The Town of Addison is always looking for new ways to connect with the community, including partnering with businesses to fulfill their service initiatives. Coming up, we have opportunities to serve at two of our major festivals, Taste Addison on June 2-3 and Kaboom Town! on July 3.

Animal Control Department Pauses Trap Loan Program

Addison's Animal Control Department is currently in the process of correcting a manpower vacancy. Until adequate manpower is restored for ancillary services, the Town is temporarily suspending the Trap Loan Program. Officers will still respond as quickly as possible to critical issues such as aggressive or loose animals, etc. You can contact Animal Control by phone at 972-450-2845 during office hours or at 972-450-7156 on nights and weekends. You can also reach them by email at addisonanimalcontrol@addisontx.gov.

Popular Touch-A-Truck Event is Back on May 13th

What could be more fun than a morning climbing on fire trucks, police cars, Public Works vehicles, and more? The Parks and Recreation Department invites you to Touch a Truck on Saturday, May 13 from 9:30 - 11:30am in the Addison Conference Centre parking lot.
