At the April 9 City Council Meeting, Parks and Recreation Director Janna Tidwell and Marketing and Tourism Director Mary Rosenbleeth provided the City Council with an overview of the history of public art in Addison and discussed ways public art is currently included in the Town's marketing efforts. Addison's first Town-led public art installation is Blueprints, which was installed on April 13, 2000. The Addison Arbor Foundation (AAF) has facilitated the installation of 24 additional public art installations in conjunction with the Town since 2012. Staff is planning to have a greater emphasis on public art in the new Visit Addison website and they are developing a parks, trails, and public art maps that can be distributed to Addison hotels.
