Town Offices Closed on Memorial Day

Trash Will Be Collected

On Monday, May 27, Addison offices will be closed in observance of Memorial Day. The Athletic Club will also be closed but the outdoor pool will be open from noon until 8pm.


Trash will be collected on its regular schedule. As a reminder, bags/waste may be placed on the curb after 6pm on Sunday or Wednesday or prior to 7am on Monday and Thursday. All receptacles must be removed from the curb within 12 hours of pick up on Monday and Thursday. Thank you for helping keep Addison clean! 

Council Updates

Parking for May 28 Council Meeting Moved Due to Taste Addison Set Up

Parking for the May 28 City Council meeting will be available in the lot just north of the Conference Centre off Morris Avenue. Addison Circle from Addison Road to Quorum Drive and the Conference and Theatre Centre parking lot will be closed on May 28 for Taste Addison event set up. There will be signs and staff to help guide you to the meeting. Thanks for your understanding. 

Upcoming Public Hearings


The following Public Hearings will occur at the May 28 City Council Meeting. Agendas are posted on the Town's website three days before the meeting.


  • Hold a public hearing, present, discuss, and consider action on a request for a Special Use Permit (SUP) for property located at 14941 Midway Road, that is currently zoned Planned Development (PD), through Ordinance No. 091-066, to allow a restaurant with the sale of alcoholic beverages for on-premises consumption. Case 1908-SUP/14941 Midway Road (Rodeo Goat).


  • Hold a public hearing, present, discuss, and consider action on a request to amend the permitted uses and development plans for Planned Development (PD) Ordinance No. O23-39, for a 0.57± acre property located at 4900 Arapaho Road, to allow automobile storage, within a 5-story mixed-use building. Case 1912-Z/4900 Arapaho Road (One Addison Place PD Amendment II).


  • Hold a public hearing, present, discuss, and consider action on a request to amend the concept plan established by Planned Development (PD) Ordinance No. O07-034 and amended by PD Ordinance No. O16-017, for a 15.173± acre property generally located at the terminus of Ponte Avenue, south of Vitruvian Park and west of Bella Lane, to allow for the future development of a phased multifamily development comprised of 1,144 multifamily dwelling units and associated amenities. Case 1904-Z/Vitruvian, Block 300 Amendment (Vitruvian, Block 300).


  • Hold a public hearing, present, discuss, and consider action on a request for a subdivision variance to install a new overhead electric power pole and supported electric utility infrastructure immediately south of the common property boundary of the Greenhill School campus (4141 Spring Valley Road), 4090 Juliard Drive, and 14604 Vintage Lane, in order to provide electric service to the newly constructed Valdes Stem + Innovation Center on the Greenhill School campus. Case SV2024-01/Greenhill School Subdivision Variance.

Comprehensive Plan Update

New Location for Next Advance Addison 2050 CPAC Meeting!

Due to Taste Addison-related road closures, the next Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee (CPAC) meeting will be held on Thursday, May 30 at the Addison Athletic Club (3900 Beltway Drive). The meeting will begin at 6pm and the public is welcome to attend in person; however, please keep in mind that seating is limited at this location. If unable to attend, the meeting will be broadcast live and recorded for viewing afterward on the Town’s website here. The agenda is posted here

Athletic Club Outdoor Pool Opens Saturday, May 25

Summer is just around the corner, and the Athletic Club's outdoor pool will be opening on Saturday, May 25! The outdoor pool will be open seven days a week including Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day with the following operating hours:


  • Monday - Saturday: 12 - 8pm
  • Sunday: 1 - 6pm


Make sure you stop by or call the front desk at 972-450-7048 and check that your membership is up to date before you go and enjoy your summer in the sun!

The Westwood School Breaks Ground on New Gymnasium

On Monday, May 20, the Westwood School held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new gymnasium. Mayor Bruce Arfsten, Deputy Mayor Pro Tempore Nancy Craig, Council Member Marlin Willensen, City Manager David Gaines, and Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce President Michael Gallops joined Head of School Heather Lourcey and many excited parents, students, and teachers to mark this special occasion for the school.


At its April 9 meeting, the City Council approved a special use permit to allow Westwood to relocate and consolidate its upper and lower schools to Midway Atriums at 14295 Midway Road. This four-story, 95,304 square-foot office building is located southwest of the Midway Road and Proton Drive intersection, immediately south of Proton Drive. The new 10,695-square-foot gymnasium will also serve as a storm shelter.

The goal is to activate the space daily, foster economic growth, draw in visitors, and identify the necessary resources to bring this vision to life.

Sunday, May 26 is the last day that Addison residents can purchase Taste Addison general admission tickets for $5 at the Addison Athletic Club (a 50% discount!). Resident Portal for Addison Kaboom Town! Tickets Open until June 4

Addison residents please watch your mailbox for this postcard with details on how to secure your FREE tickets to the Addison Kaboom Town! watch party at Addison Circle Park before they are available to the general public. Tickets are limited to six per household and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until 10am on Tuesday, June 4 through the Resident-Only Portal.


General Admission tickets are $10 this year and attendance is limited due to the capacity of the park. Tickets go on sale to the general public at noon on Wednesday, June 5.

Last Call for Comments on Two Unified Development Code Sections!

 

The Town has engaged Clarion Associates to review Addison’s current development regulations to make them clearer and to better accomplish the Town's long-term goals and vision through the creation of a new Unified Development Code (UDC). The Administrative Procedures and Districts & Uses sections of the UDC are now available for review on addisonudc.org. Please deliver any comments and suggestions on the new drafts to Comprehensive Planning Manager, Jade Broadnax, by emailing udc@addisontx.gov through Monday, May 27.
