Council Updates

City Council Approves Developer Agreement for Addison Airport Improvements

At its September 10 meeting, the Addison City Council approved a Developer Participation Agreement with RR Investment, Inc. for key public improvements at Addison Airport. RRI recently entered into a four-acre ground lease at the airport, which included constructing a new heavy aircraft concrete apron adjacent to their leased property. Given their involvement, the Town entered into a Developer Participation Agreement with RRI to combine its aircraft apron construction with the needed reconstruction of the adjacent airport vehicle service road. This collaboration enhances airport infrastructure while reducing disruption to operations, with the Town's portion of the costs funded through the Airport Enterprise Fund.

You can watch the Council's developer participation agreement here and read the presentation here.

Upcoming Public Hearing

The following public hearing will occur at the September 24 City Council Meeting at 15650 Addison Road. You can find the agenda on the Town's website.

Hold a public hearing, present, discuss, and consider action on a request for a Special Use Permit (SUP) for an existing private school, Greenhill School, located at 4141 Spring Valley Road, currently zoned R-1 Single Family Dwelling and Planned Development (PD), through Ordinance 084-092, to allow a new private school building. Case 1916-SUP/Greenhill Athletic Performance Center.

New Town Website Launches September 30 with New Domain: AddisonTx.gov

The website approved by the City Council last fall will launch on September 30. The new site includes the main website, as well as subsites for Parks and Recreation, Addison Airport, Addison Police Department, Economic Development, and Development Services. The new navigation is reorganized using the metrics of how visitors use the website like data analysis and user testing to make it easier to find the most requested pages.

The site also features a new website address:  AddisonTx.gov. Because a government entity has to be approved to use a .gov domain, search engines give priority to these sites, increasing searchability. The new URL also aligns with the Town staff email addresses to simplify communication. The prior site (addisontexas.net), will redirect to the new site, but we are asking the community to move toward using the new address.

As the new site is rolled out, there may be missed links or moved pages Please feel free to contact the Marketing and Tourism Department at marketing@addisontx.gov with any questions, concerns, or suggestions.

We appreciate your patience as we work to improve our communication channels for the community.

Public Safety Non-Emergency Number Changes October 1

To better serve our community, beginning October 1 the new Public Safety non-emergency number will be:

469-289-3270

When Addison joined the North Texas Communications Center (NTECC), our existing non-emergency number (972-450-7156) was forwarded to the new dispatch center. Because the transfer goes through two different networks (Spectrum and ATT) before it reaches NTECC, we've had several outages recently. This change will allow more reliability for this important communication channel. We apologize for the inconvenience.
