On-Farm Winter Pea Trial Signup for Fall 2024

The Cover Crop Breeding Network is introducing small-scale on-farm winter pea trials for farmers and gardeners in hardiness zones 3-6! In addition to testing winter pea varieties for cover crop use, we’re excited to partner with the Stone Barns Center for Food & Agriculture and Blue Hill at Stone Barns to explore culinary possibilities with these cover crops. For more information, check out this On-Farm Winter Pea Trial Invitation video, find more information at the CCB Network Opportunities page, or sign up at https://app.seedlinked.com/en-US/trials/1704/registration. This trial is a great fit for smaller farms, gardeners, and demo plots! Registration will be open until July 31, 2024 or until it fills with 60 participants. Please contact Solveig Hanson, CCB Network Coordinator, at ccbn@cornell.edu with any questions.

WE WANT YOUR INSIGHT For YOUR

2025 Food & Farming Winter Conference

Help Us Help You Because This conference is for YOU!

Content, Speakers, Food, Auction, & Planners

HELP US PLAN: We'd love your insight and help to make the 2025 NPSAS Food and Farming Conference a great success. To that end, we're looking for ideas & a few good people who might want to serve on the planning committee to help continue bringing spirit and excitement to the NPSAS winter conference.

ORGANIZE KIDS' SESSIONS: One of the most unique features of the NPSAS Conference are the inclusiveness of families to have kids workshops. Would you like to help with ideas or work with sharing ag ideas in the workshops for young minds?

DONATE AUCTION ITEMS: We had a great auction last year. It is never too early to start thinking about what you might want to donate for this fun night. We had farm equipment, a weekend in the Black Hills, toys, food, fertilizer, art, and more... what would you like to bring?

DONATE OR SELL FOOD FOR MEALS: Two things: On Friday night, we have our Taste of Ag event, where we invite regionally local producers to share bits and pieces of their local foods and tell their farm stories. In addition, we try to serve as much organic and/or local food for the conference meals as possible.

  • Would you help us tell your story and share bites and pieces and sell your goods at the Taste of Ag?
  • Do you have some organic or locally grown food you'd like to donate and/or have for sale that we can work into our menu?

If you have food, ideas, content, speakers, or you'd like to be on the planning committee, call or text Krysti at 605-380-3770 or send an email to director@npsas.org.

Together we'll make this conference a GREAT success.

ABERDEEN HERE WE COME!!!!

Share Your Story for the Germinator

Do you have an article about a particular event, an awesome recipe or two, or a new innovation? Can you share how you transitioned to organic or regenerative practices? Maybe you have a heartwarming story or informational article you think might interest members of NPSAS? Perhaps you like to write and would like to share your time and talents helping to write stories for The Germinator, the quarterly NPSAS publication. If so, please email your article or idea to director@npsas.org.
