AN ALL-ENCOMPASSING THANK YOU

"Strange Bird: The Voice of Jung” starring Raymond O’Neill was an amazing success. A large warm responsive crowd, an actor who truly captured the essence of how Jungian thought applies to our life, a vibrant reception (including “Dr. Jung” blowing out the candles on his birthday cupcakes), and a great book fair.

And not only was this the first time the play was ever performed in the United States, it was also the first time we were able to collaborate with the Greater Cincinnati Friends of Jung, Cleveland Jung, and the C.G. Jung Association of the Miami Valley so that the play could be performed in all 4 cities! All we can say to our amazing Jung community is thank you for your amazing response to this event. To see a few pictures, check us out on FaceBook.

UPCOMING PROGRAMS & ACTIVITIES

SATURDAY CONVERSATIONS

August 16, 2026, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. EST

1550 OLD HENDERSON ROAD, COLUMBUS, OH 43220, NORTH ENTRANCE (back of building)

In Person Only

A reminder that on Saturday, August 16th we have the great pleasure of having coffee and conversation with Mike Schaeffer (long time JACO member, spouse, father, grandfather, construction industry computer modeler, and, oh yes, a psychotherapist). What we said in July is worth repeating now:

Coffee and conversation is about creating a space for a more ‘subjective’ experience and Jungian ideas. Our intent is to begin with a seed topic to get the conversation going and then to remain open to the path that develops from there. This space will be about engaging in the process of individuation in each of the participants and in the group as a whole…. There is a time as we age when our energy shifts from accumulating knowledge to expressing the Self. So let’s engage in Self expression!

Although free, it is immensely helpful to us if you RSVP so we have enough coffee and snacks as well as prepare the space to receive you. Thank you!

BOOK CLUB

SEPTEMBER 7, 2025

and every 2 weeks thereafter until done

Zoom only

Starting on September 7, 2025 we will begin to discuss “Moving Toward the Millionth Circle” led by Board member, board-certified art therapist Maggi Colwell. The book is by Jean Shinoda Bolen, M.D. and is a sequel to her book, “The Millionth Circle” – a metaphoric tipping point into a post-patriarchal era. It continues her mission of encouraging and recognizing the power of heart-centered feminine activism. She draws upon her work with the United Nations as well as her experiences with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and women from all walks of life around the world. It’s a great read.

The Book Club Discussion series is always free, but you do need to register in order that we can send you the link. See registration button below.

BOLLINGEN CONFERENCE:

Archetypes, AI, and the Human Thought Process

October 18, 2026, 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

1320 Cambridge Blvd., Columbus, OH 43212

In Person and by Zoom

We will again hold our Bollingen Conference as an all-day Saturday program (rather than a Friday evening, Saturday morning event). We are extremely honored that our speaker this year is Dr. Glen Slater. Dr. Slater has been a member of the core faculty at Pacifica Graduate Institute for the past 25 years and is currently the Associate Chair of its Jungian & Archetypal Psychology Program. He has written numerous articles and book chapters for Jungian publications. You can find several at https://www.cgjungny.org/quadrant.

The morning session will be a lecture entitled “Archetypes, AI, and the Human Thought Process: A Depth Psychological Review.” Following a lunch break, there will be an afternoon workshop entitled “Jung’s Myth of Consciousness in the Digital Age.” The conference qualifies for 5.5 continuing education units. The concepts are drawn from his recent book, “Jung vs. Borg: Finding the Deeply Human in a Posthuman Age.”[1]

In a time when artificial intelligence is playing a larger and larger role in our lives—and the way we interact with others— we believed this to be an issue of key importance to our community. We hope you will join us.

Registration will open in September.

[1] For StarTrek fans, you may recall the infamous Borg—a species that converted humans into cyborgs and the famous line, “You will be assimilated.”
