2023 happy new year
Happy Holidays!

We hope this festive season is bringing you joy and rest. In this winter edition, we honor the memory of a beloved and dedicated volunteer who passed this past October.

Additionally, we present our newest community training - "Introduction to Domestic Violence" - and share some reminders on how to enter your volunteer hours.

As always, thanks for everything you do.

With gratitude,
Alli
Latest News and Reminders
YWCA Sonoma County is pleased to announce the release of a community education presentation:
“Introduction to Domestic Violence.”
This presentation is great for agencies, organizations, and other community groups who would like to know how to support survivors they might encounter in their work or personal lives, but don’t have time to attend our 40-hour training. The 1-2 hour presentation can be tailored to meet a variety of needs and offers an overview of YWCA Services, a primer on domestic violence dynamics, and tips and resources to help support survivors.

If you or someone you know would like to receive additional information about this presentation, please check out our website at here, or call Alli at 707-303-8403.
Clockify Reminder
Please be sure to enter in your volunteer hours at the end of each month! If you need help remembering how to do it, please contact Alli at 303-8403.
A Call for Change Helpline Overview - 3:55
Recommended by Alli Rios.
A Call for Change is the nation’s first abuse prevention helpline, made for those who choose to use abusive and/or controlling behaviors or their loved ones. Too often, we focus on violence prevention from the side of victims and survivors. We cannot end domestic violence without supporting people who harm. Providing them with the tools and resources they need can help them to think and act differently.
Two Women Sue Apple After Their Execs Used AirTags to Stalk Them - short article by Audra Heinrichs for Jezebel.
Recommended by Mary Stuart.
The Apple Air-Tag just came out in 2021 and has put survivors and the people trying to help them at risk. A helpful convenience for lost items such as luggage can so easily become a tool to stalk, locate, and harm.
