Volume 2: October 20, 2022
Last weekend, teams showed up excited and ready to dive right into the regular season as we hosted our first two competitive games.

We're so pleased to announce East Side Middle School's return to Asphalt Green's Community Sports Leagues flag football after several years! The team got their first win of the new season against Equality Charter. Plus, last year's defending champions, M.S. 108M, picked up where they left off winning their first game of this season.

Read on for game highlights and be sure to check out the 2022 season schedule. We look forward to seeing everyone this Saturday as we gear up for week three including two postponed games from last weekend.

Tip of the Week:
Scouting Your Opponent
Having a good sense of your opponent's behavior is a crucial part of being successful in flag football.

A great way to gain an understanding of an opposing team's game plan is by analyzing league standings. For example, to determine if their strategy is based on high scoring or a strong defense, you can compare their total number of points scored with their total number of points allowed in a season. You can also ask friends on other teams for breakdowns of their experiences competing against your opponent.

Remember to be a good fan of other teams — watch as many games as you can and cheer on big plays. Record their strategies as well and brainstorm ways you and your team would play against them. Win the battle of preparation! Gaining knowledge about your league will help you be the best athlete you can be and give you an advantage when playing.
