Get Ready for Our Intrasquad Meet in Two Weeks!

Don't forget to register for our upcoming intrasquad meet happening Saturday, February 11 from 6am to 8am at the Upper East Side campus! Sign-up will close on Wednesday, February 9 at 12pm.

Here are a few reminders when signing up:
 
  • Select up to three events and one alternative. If there are too many heats for your chosen event(s), we'll have to adjust to finish in the allotted time.
  • This is an unofficial competition, so times will not apply for any award consideration.

Seeking Swim Instructors for Both Campuses

Asphalt Green is looking to hire experienced swim instructors part-time for our Swim School at both of our campuses!

This is a unique opportunity to use your teaching and people skills to introduce people to the joys of swimming. All instructors are trained in Asphalt Green’s curriculum and teaching methodology. Plus, they may use our facilities such as our pools and fitness centers at no cost, so no need for a health club membership.

Swim Workout

For those that are able to find extra time to swim, check out the following pool workout. Please note, these intervals are for short course yards but feel free to adjust as necessary.

  • Warmup (Two rounds; Set yards: 800)
  • 200 swim / 100 kick / 100 IM drill

  • Pre-set (Three rounds; Set yards: 1,200)
  • 4 x 75 IMO kick / drill / swim by 25s at 1:30
  • 4 x 125 as 50 IMO / 75 freestyle swim at 2:00
  • 100 butterfly kicks (while on your back) at 2:00 
  • 100 freestyle (with butterfly kicks off of each wall) at 1:50 
  • 2 x 50 choice of stroke drill at 1:00 
  • 4 x 25 choice of stroke swim at 0:30 

  • Main set (Two rounds; Set yards: 3,300)
  • 8 x 25 IMO at 0:30 
  • 6 x 50 freestyle at 0:55 
  • 8 x 75 at 1:20 as
  • Odd sets: 25 Butterfly / 25 backstroke / 25 breaststroke
  • Even sets: 25 Backstroke / 25 breaststroke / 25 freestyle
  • 6 x 100 free at 1:40 
  • 1 x 200 IM at 3:30
  • 50 easy with recovery at 1:00
