Swim Spotlight
Welcome to our AGUA Masters swim spotlight! Here, we’ll highlight a few of our fellow swimmers and lane mates. Get to know them outside of swimming and greet them on deck (before or after practice please 😊).

– Coach Jim Wu
Meet AGUA Masters Swimmer Georgina Speight!
How long have you been swimming with AGUA Masters?
Three years with a 16-year hiatus (!). Delighted to be back.

What's your favorite stroke / distance / event?
The IM and the fly.

Which practice times do you normally attend?
Mornings and sometimes noon at Asphalt Green's Upper East Side campus.

What's your favorite AGUA Masters memory?
It’s really hard to choose. I’ll go with the last meet — the adrenaline off the blocks, the camaraderie, and the post-race celebrations with my teammates.

What do you do (your job)?
Enable software developers to build and deliver faster. I run platform engineering for an investment bank i.e. migrate to the cloud and rearchitect, refactor, and rehost legacy systems.
What song(s) are you listening to on repeat right now?
Goldberg Variations by Johann Sebastian Bach, Maria Callas singing Casta Diva, Mozart’s Requiem, and (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction by The Rolling Stones.

What do you like to do for fun outside of the pool?
Cooking, reading (especially fond of neuroscience), walking my dog, and gardening.
Training Tips
If you have any swim workouts you've done or would like to share, we’d love to highlight them! Submit your workouts to Coach Jim at [email protected].
