While there are countless tips for preventing sports injuries, Tyler Maple '22 dedicated part of his summer to research the effectiveness of a specific method through his Eckley Scholarship at Illinois Wesleyan University.

2 - 3:14 p.m., Young Main Lounge, Memorial Center — All Campus Conference for Faculty & Staff — We will gather to kick off the new academic year and welcome new staff and faculty colleagues to IWU. President Georgia Nugent will begin with the announcement of this year’s Max L. Starkey Award winner followed by an update on university initiatives and plans. Campus colleagues will share information about our incoming class and how we plan to support all of our students in the coming year. Light refreshments will be served.


4 - 5:30 p.m., Center for Engaged Learning, The Ames Library — Faculty Scholarship and Creative Arts Celebration — The Ames Library will host the annual faculty scholarship and creative arts celebration showcasing our faculty's rich scholarly, artistic and creative productivity. 

This year, the celebration will also honor the recipients of our inaugural Excellence in Teaching, Excellence in Scholarship & Creative Activity, and Excellence in Services Awards.
