Issue 13

2022-2023

Blossom Hill Vision Statement – (Abilities and skills we expect our students to acquire and take out into the world)

All students will have the necessary skills to become enthusiastic, life-long learners and productive, empathetic, respectful members of society.

Blossom Hill Mission Statement – (What we need to do as a school community to ensure this happens)

The Blossom Hill School community takes pride in providing an enriched standards-based curriculum in a safe, nurturing environment. We strive to appreciate an awareness of students’ developmental needs to help them progress toward independence.

From the Principal's Desk

Dear Blossom Hill Families:

Please join us for our first ever Honeybee Hangout scheduled for this Friday November 4th at 7:40 am in our beautiful, newly renovated courtyard. The event will provide opportunities to connect and share moments with staff, other parents, and students. Donuts, coffee, and juice will be provided.

That morning, we will also be kicking off our holiday drive to support local Migrant families in Monterey and Salinas. Please see the flier below for a detailed list of donation items. It is a gift to be able to help those in greatest need.

Thank you to Kristin Huthchinson, our Home & School Club President, for planning and preparing for the Honeybee Hangout and spearheading a holiday drive that cultivates a culture of giving in our BH community to provide children and families with basic life necessities.

In Education Together,

Lisa

Help Wanted!

Hicklebee's Bookfair is coming soon!

We need volunteers to help transform our library into our book fair, ring up purchases, or help find books for shoppers. Sign up for a shift or two here

All proceeds from the Hicklebee's Book Fair go directly to our Library to support literacy programs.

Book Fair Gift Certificates - This year Gift Certificate Orders can be done online. Please click here to place your order:

The certificates can be purchased in the amount of $10 or more and will be delivered to your student’s classroom the Monday, Nov. 14th, before the Book Fair. Gift Certificates are a safe way for your child to purchase books without the risk of bringing and possibly losing cash.

They also make a great gift for friends and your favorite teachers!

Please note that Kindergarten classes are not allowed to make purchases without a parent so gift certificates don’t apply for them.

Please direct any questions you may have to our Book Fair Co-Chairs at [email protected] .

The Town of Los Gatos, in partnership with Safe Routes to School, is soliciting your input of what improvements will be beneficial to school students who walk and bike to school. Your input will contribute to the Town’s efforts in competing in grant funding and designing better projects.

Please complete one survey per student. Multiple surveys will be accepted if you are the parent/guardian of more than one student. This survey takes 2 minutes to complete and does not ask personal information. If you have any questions regarding this survey, please contact Town of Los Gatos staff via email: [email protected]
