From the Principal's Desk
Dear Blossom Hill Families:
As we take time to reflect on the first several months of the school year, I must share what a gift it has been to have Maestra Giuliana Shilling join our learning community as we have added Spanish to our program for students in grades 1-5. This wonderful addition to the curriculum is part of the district’s Strategic Plan Objective #3 Community & Global Citizenship.
The passion and enthusiasm Maestra Schilling brings to her lessons is contagious and has resulted in students learning about greetings, colors, days of the week, emotions & feelings, and day-to-day vocabulary associated with school.
In both her planning and instruction, Maestra Schilling is dedicated to helping others develop a global citizenship lens and embrace a growth mindset that fosters curiosity about customs, beliefs, traditions, and humor. Her goal is to create a sense of appreciation in her students for the richness in learning about and embracing different world languages and cultures.
When we return in January, we will be labeling our campus to help us all develop our Spanish vocabulary and enrich our appreciation of this great big beautiful world.
This year, the Spanish program is a pilot program. It is our hope to grow the program to include Kindergarten next year. Thank you for your support of One Community LG to make this possible.
