Blossom Hill Vision Statement – (Abilities and skills we expect our students to acquire and take out into the world)

All students will have the necessary skills to become enthusiastic, life-long learners and productive, empathetic, respectful members of society.

Blossom Hill Mission Statement – (What we need to do as a school community to ensure this happens)

The Blossom Hill School community takes pride in providing an enriched standards-based curriculum in a safe, nurturing environment. We strive to appreciate an awareness of students’ developmental needs to help them progress toward independence.

From the Principal's Desk

Dear Blossom Hill Families:

Last Thursday, our K-5 classes had the good fortune to meet with Wilma Wyss, a mosaic artist who designs, fabricates, and installs mosaics for both public and private spaces throughout the Bay Area. Wilma did a wonderful job personally connecting with the students by sharing her childhood passion for collecting and organizing objects such as: sea glass, bottle caps, buttons, leaves, rocks, and countless other items. She even had a penchant for creating patterns with food. This passion led her to become a self-employed artist creating both small and large mosaics. During the presentation, Amy walked students through the steps she follows to collect materials, create a template, and complete research to be sure her designs are accurate. She also shared the process she follows to cut and shape tiles and adhere them to a template to complete an installation. Her slide deck included pictures of her studio and the equipment she uses to make the magic happen!

We are truly fortunate to provide our students this opportunity to meet and learn from such a talented professional. This is possible thanks to our partnership with the Art Docents, the BH Home & School Club, One Community LG and you! Thank you for your support.

Thank you to Mrs. Petty’s class who prepared a lovely mosaic welcome sign that was hanging in the office upon Ms. Wyss’s arrival. It made her day!
