Blossom Hill Vision Statement – (Abilities and skills we expect our students to acquire and take out into the world)

All students will have the necessary skills to become enthusiastic, life-long learners and productive, empathetic, respectful members of society.

Blossom Hill Mission Statement – (What we need to do as a school community to ensure this happens)

The Blossom Hill School community takes pride in providing an enriched standards-based curriculum in a safe, nurturing environment. We strive to appreciate an awareness of students’ developmental needs to help them progress toward independence.

From the Principal's Desk

Dear Blossom Hill Families:

Next Monday, April 3rd we will be holding a district-wide, TK-8 emergency safety drill. The exercise is a follow-up to the drill held last fall. During the event, we will participate in a hypothetical earthquake which will result in the implementation of both the district and site’s Incident Command Structure (ICS). Using these assigned roles and responsibilities we will go through the steps of experiencing an emergency, implementing a search & rescue team, evaluating and evacuating the facility, and setting up a command center, first aid station, reunification area, and student release area. Throughout the process, we will be communicating our status and needs to the district office ICS.

A practice scenario such as this allows us to continue to level up our skills and be prepared to care for your child during an emergency as well as plan for a smooth reunification process for hundreds of families. The exercise last fall was useful and the debrief provided us with important insights into refining expectations around roles. I was extremely proud of our students for their thoughtful participation and our staff for their commitment to fully embrace the learning opportunity to test our plans and reveal details where we can improve our practice. I am anticipating similar outcomes from this upcoming event.

During Monday’s drill, students will be outside for approximately 30 to 40 minutes. Please be sure your child is dressed in layers that day to ensure they stay warm and dry. Thank you!

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

In safety together,

Lisa Reynolds, Principal

April Mileage Club Final Month!

There are 10 mileage club days between now and April 28, our last run/walk day. About 70 students could reach the marathon milestone if they run or walk at least a mile per session between now and April 28. Many students could also earn a double marathon award. We encourage you to check in with your student and help them achieve their goals. Medals are awarded to students who run a marathon, trophies are awarded to students who run an ultra/double marathon during the 2022-23 mileage club program. Scanners are needed during our power finish line days.

Are you an incoming Fisher Middle School parent who would love the opportunity to be involved in supporting students, teachers, administrators, and assisting in the general welfare of the school?

Thank you to our Home & School Club Community Sponsor of the Week!

As you know, summer is an important time for children to keep up their Math skills so they don't lose what they learned during the school year. Our summer math programs help build up kids' math knowledge and prepare them for the new school year ahead.

So in addition to our current students continuing with their regular program over the summer, we are also offering 2 other options this year, including:

  • A fun half-day summer camp on Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays for Elementary School students between June 12 to August 04 from 9 am to 12 pm
  • Flexible packages of 12, 18 or 24 summer classes which you can choose from and do over the summer (between Monday, June 12th – Sunday, August 13th).
