2022-2023

Blossom Hill Vision Statement – (Abilities and skills we expect our students to acquire and take out into the world)

All students will have the necessary skills to become enthusiastic, life-long learners and productive, empathetic, respectful members of society.

Blossom Hill Mission Statement – (What we need to do as a school community to ensure this happens)

The Blossom Hill School community takes pride in providing an enriched standards-based curriculum in a safe, nurturing environment. We strive to appreciate an awareness of students’ developmental needs to help them progress toward independence.

From the Principal's Desk

Dear Blossom Hill Families:

Thank you for attending our second round of Parent/Teacher Conferences for the 2022-23 school year.  The strong Home/School partnership forged throughout our learning community is a key factor in supporting students’ happiness, social/emotional growth, and academic success.

The faculty and I would like to express our heartfelt appreciation for the delicious breakfast goodies, beverages, and lunches provided last week.  The amazing team of Katie Fazeli and Liz Alves combined their talents to coordinate this thoughtful BH tradition, transforming the staff lounge into a Picnic in the Park.  The BH Team was treated to yummy meals, along with a decorative wall that included personalized messages from our kiddos, red-checkered tablecloths, and beautiful centerpieces bursting with sunflowers, yellow roses, and sunshine.

Thank you to the following parents and families who went above and beyond in their generous contributions to support staff during conference week with their time, decorating and flower arranging expertise, delicious treats, and financial donations: Katherine Cole, Francine Shore, Ellen Feichtmeir, Julie Reynolds, Tara Moseley, Laurel Cheng, Tristan O’Gorman, Widya Junus, Tatiana Livshits, Melissa Crow, Susie Sommerstad, Libby Trevathan, Kristin Hutchinson, Irene Wong, Brady Otoupal, Carrie Endweiss, Caroline Zamansky, Rachel Pandipati, Jiayue Sun, Annie Zeid, Helen Katske, Debbie Bluestone, Hana Chen, Charlotte Fang, George Chen, Chris Bertucelli, Cindy Tucey, Dana Green, Kathy Kwong, Lily Shen, Lisa Sanchez Silva, Liz Morali, Myungeun Shin, Natasha Burtis, Nicole Duke, Lorraine Caldwell, Sandy Fu, Shailja Kumari, Shurei Seng, Stephanie Costa, Suejin Kim, Yashaswini Pattar, Maria Delaplaine, Julia Wong, Smita Kanungo, Suzanne Errecart, Danielle Peake, Meghan Bakota, Angela Lau, Grace Oh, Cristina Fador, Priya Khanna, Xiaobo Xie, Irina Uralskaya, Tao Jia, Brittney Ames, Archana Varanasi, Xinghua Yu, Shruti Dendage, Pari Ardakani, Lisa Mitchell, Janice Yeh, Daniel Culbert, Chilla Wiersema, Aleksandra Jedrzejewska, Brooke Whitebread, Angela Ritz, Anahita Mazdiyassni, Davina Sambath, Will Schmidt, Stacie Dremel Vogt, Sonya Margolis, Dapeng Li, Ning Ye, Tiffany Hung, Patrick Hancir, Dale Anderson, Eva Dounias, Emilie Le Du, Amy Brown, Tuuyen & John Tran, Naree Yoon, Kelly Wissolik, Boyu Lu, Sheldon Ren, Cheri Finalle Binkley, Tara Christian, Cortney Frantz, Jessica Clee, Lavanya Gandluru, Alves Family & Fazeli Family.

Below is a message that I received from a colleague that captures the essence and impact that the opportunity to break bread and share moments together provided for our BH Team.

I want to express my appreciation to the entire community of parents and volunteers who made this week so beautiful.  The decorated room is such a nice touch, and makes me smile every time I step in.  I feel well cared for, with generous meals to start and end my work day.  I am able to check in with friends and colleagues I might not otherwise be able to chat with due to different bell schedules.  I feel so refreshed and full of gratitude.  This is love in action!  If there is a way to relay this thank you to all the parents, I really want them all to know their time, energy and effort fills my bucket, my belly and my heart!  If you can do it without my name, I would appreciate it :)

With great gratitude,

Lisa Reynolds & the Blossom Hill Team

Special Notice from Administration

Safety of our students, staff and families is our first priority. Over the past year we have partnered with Knowledge Saves Lives, a safety industry leader, to access our school sites and update our safety training. With that in mind, on March 22, all Elementary Schools will participate in  lockdown procedure training. Following best practices, staff will be prepared to respond to a variety of emergency situations.

Due to the intense nature of the training, outside visitors and students will not be allowed on campus during the trainings. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Principal Reynolds at lreynolds@lgusd.org. She will be happy to assist you. We collectively appreciate your support and want to help address any concerns as we continue to enhance our safety protocols.

Thank you to our Home & School Club Community Sponsor of the Week!

As you know, summer is an important time for children to keep up their Math skills so they don't lose what they learned during the school year. Our summer math programs help build up kids' math knowledge and prepare them for the new school year ahead.

So in addition to our current students continuing with their regular program over the summer, we are also offering 2 other options this year, including:

  • A fun half-day summer camp on Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays for Elementary School students between June 12 to August 04 from 9 am to 12 pm
  • Flexible packages of 12, 18 or 24 summer classes which you can choose from and do over the summer (between Monday, June 12th – Sunday, August 13th).
