We are excited to welcome you to "The Network", TiE New York's new monthly newsletter to keep our Charter Members, Entrepreneur Members, Sponsors, and community informed of news and events that support and empower New York's entrepreneurial network, locally and globally. 

Going forward, this newsletter will be released on the last Tuesday of every month to tell you of our upcoming events and news you cannot miss.

I am thrilled that NY will continue to be represented on the TiE Global Board of Trustees. Our CM, Tariq Khan, has been a great global trustee for the last two years. I have benefitted tremendously from his wise counsel and look forward to his support as I serve on the TiE Global board for the next two years.

January 11 - Open Mic Night (Virtual)

TiE New York's monthly Open Mic Night kicks off 2022 on Tuesday, January 11 at 6:00 PM.

Divya Vivek Chaudhary will be the featured speaker followed with networking and pitching. Divya Vivek Chaudhary leads VC investments at Blue 9 Capital, a family office with decades of experience investing in private markets, historically private equity and buyouts. She recently transitioned to early-stage venture incubating B9VC, focusing on deep tech and data infrastructure companies across fintech, healthcare tech, consumer, energy, among others.

Want to pitch your startup at this event? Join us! You need to be an entrepreneur or an aspiring entrepreneur with a passion to share your idea that may change our world. You will be given a safe entrepreneurial friendly virtual space to deliver an elevator pitch for 2 minutes in presence of a group of mentors, angel investors, venture capitalists, startup-focused service providers, and a supportive community of successful entrepreneurs. Non-members of TiE New York are welcome to pitch.

January 18 - Mentoring Session (Virtual)

Join TiE New York for its monthly Mentorship Session on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Our speaker will be announced soon!

The Mentoring Program is absolutely free, and is available to all TiE NY Entrepreneur Members. All confirmed registrants will receive the Zoom meeting information via email within 24 hours of the start time.

TiE New York has opened applications for TiE University's 2022 program. The University Program is focused on mentoring and growing the next generation of entrepreneurs.

To apply, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Any startup less than 5 years old with at least one university student entrepreneur/co-founder is eligible to apply. 
• A university student entrepreneur/co-founder must be still in college or have graduated within the preceding two academic years.
• Startups in all industries are welcome to apply.

An Evening with Rajat Gupta & Rakesh Kaul

In early December, TiE New York hosted an exclusive evening with Rajat Gupta, former CEO of McKinsey and Company, and Rakesh Kaul at Le Skyroom at FIAF in New York City.

The two business leaders spoke about leadership, overcoming hardships, and how to lead without fear. Mr. Gupta spoke about his climb to the top of McKinsey, the challenges and opportunities, and his biggest takeaway.

The evening brought together Charter Members from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Austin, Boston, Washington, D.C. and more.

Charter Members Gather in Abu Dhabi

TiE New York was well represented at the 2021 TiE Charter Member Retreat at Saadiyat Islands, Abu Dhabi, UAE. Dharti Desai, Harjit Singh, Manjusha Tipre, Sunny Kaila, and Tariq Khan went on behalf of the chapter.

The Annual TiE Global CM Retreat facilitates business and social networking with the TiE CM network of 3,000 TiE charter members from around the globe. The CM Retreat is an exclusive event for TiE Charter Members and their families, where TiE CMs meet old friends, discuss the charter of TiE, and foster closer ties within the TiE CM community. 

Brunch Social Brings Together Charter Members

TiE New York Charter Member Tariq Khan and Uliya Khan hosted a Charter Member Brunch at their home. The brunch brought together TiE New York Charter Members for an afternoon of socializing and networking. Thanks, Tariq and Uliya, for hosting!
