Dear District 6 residents,
LA County has been working on a sewer relining project on Arroyo Blvd. in recent weeks, which is expected to be completed by Friday, December 19.
| | Public Works Annual Citywide Street Resurfacing and ADA Improvements Project Construction Completion | |
Greg de Vinck, Public Works Director reports the City of Pasadena continues to invest in maintaining safe, accessible, and reliable streets for residents, businesses, and visitors. Recently the City completed the Annual Citywide Street Resurfacing and ADA Improvement Program for FY 2025, an ongoing program that repairs pavement, improves accessibility, and extends the useful life of Pasadena’s roadway network.
This $8.8 million project resurfaced approximately 11.5 miles of asphalt pavement across neighborhoods citywide.
In addition to repaving, the project included a series of improvements to enhance accessibility, safety, efficiency, and the overall condition of our streets:
- Removing and replacing damaged concrete curbs, gutters, and sidewalks
- Installing 35 Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant curb ramps
- Adjusting existing utility manholes
- Replacing traffic signal loop detectors
- Installing new striping and raised pavement markers
The project also incorporated several additional enhancements to maximize construction efficiency and community benefit:
- Rosemont Avenue & Seco Street: Constructed crosswalks, ADA ramps, and sidewalk repairs to improve walkability to resident requests near the Rose Bowl
- University Drive: Resurfaced the street in coordination with Pasadena Water & Power following a water main replacement
- Hill Avenue Library Parking Lot: Resurfaced the parking lot to improve access and surface conditions for library patrons
Looking ahead, the Public Works Engineering team has already begun planning the FY 2026 Annual Street Resurfacing Program, continuing the City’s dedication to safe, well-maintained, and accessible streets throughout Pasadena.
