National Voter Registration Day is Tuesday, September 20

National Voter Registration Day is celebrated every year on a Tuesday in September. First organized in 2012, it is the nation’s largest, nonpartisan civic holiday dedicated to celebrating our democracy by registering as many eligible Americans to vote as possible through the collective efforts of thousands of volunteers, nonprofit organizations, businesses, schools, libraries, and election officials. The next California election will be the 2022 Primary Election on November 8.

There will be a post-film discussion with both the Director of the film, Larissa Lam, and the Producer of the film, Baldwin Chiu. There is limited seating at this event. Save your spot today at eventbrite.com/e/418408249337. There will be a reception following the screening and Q&A.

Collegewide Open Forum on Outreach Plan

In response to student enrollment declines that are statewide, American River College, along with our sister colleges, has been working in consultation with the Gravenberg Group to develop a strategic Outreach Plan to support our recruitment, enrollment and retention efforts. A draft of the 90-day Outreach Plan, which details approaches and strategies that are specific to ARC and the communities that we serve, is ready for review, and we need your feedback! Please join us for a virtual collegewide open forum on Tuesday, September 20 from 3:00-4:00pm to learn about the development of this plan from the consultants, Dr. Eric Gravenberg and Dr. Carmen Corona, and to provide your thoughts and suggestions. Jeff Stephenson, VPSS and Hannah Blodgett, Interim Dean of Outreach, FYE & Pathway Communities, will facilitate. A Zoom recording of the forum will be available shortly after and shared, for those who are unable to participate at this time.

Check out the 90-Day Outreach Plan online now; as you review, please email any thoughts or suggestions to Hannah Blodgett and/or Jeff Stephenson.
