2023 Faculty and Staff Flexible Spending Account Open Enrollment is Here!

Now is the time for faculty and staff to enroll in a Medical, Limited Use and/or Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for the 2023 calendar year. You can use the FSA plan to pay for your out-of-pocket healthcare or daycare expenses with PRETAX EARNINGS. Simply designate a specific amount of your pay (before taxes are withheld) to go into your FSA to use for expenses you will have in the coming year. This is NOT medical/dental/vision open enrollment, which will take place in the spring of 2023.

If you enroll during open enrollment, your accounts will be effective on January 1, 2023. Please note that you must enroll during open enrollment in order to participate in the plans in 2023. Your FSA elections DO NOT roll over from year to year.

For more information on the FSA open enrollment process:

FSA Enrollment Guide

You have until Friday, November 18 to log into the benefits supersite and make your FSA elections. If you do not enroll during the current open enrollment period, your next opportunity to do so will be during open enrollment next fall, with the exception of a mid-year qualifying life event. We strongly recommend enrolling early in the enrollment period so that you are able to obtain assistance, if needed.

Please feel free to contact Employee Benefits at benefits@losrios.edu if you have general questions, including questions concerning the enrollment process. For specific FSA-related questions, please reach out to BASIC Pacific at (800) 372-3539.

Announcing Individual Retirement Events

Employee retirement party announcements can be published in Beaver Bites if the event is open to the entire campus community (all employees are invited). Please make sure the announcement includes all relevant information - date, time, location, if there is a need for RSVP, etc. Items for submission in Beaver Bites are needed by the Wednesday prior to the Monday publish date (and earlier is always better). No flyers please - just the text for the announcement with the event details. If the announcement does not meet Beaver Bites publishing timelines, the event will be shared using ARC Everyone on Exchange. Submit event info to ARC_PIO@losrios.edu. Smaller retirement events can be shared with individual departments or areas as appropriate.

Emotional Wellness Toolkit for Finals

LRCCD Mental Health Services is hosting a series of events to help students maintain emotional wellness during finals. All events will be offered through Zoom:

For questions please contact the ARC Student Health & Wellness Center or meghan.lefkowitz@losrios.edu.
