Travel Enhancements & Online Application Upgrades are now live!

The enhancements to our travel insurance products are now ready for sale in your Broker Travel Portal! 

Now available for your clients, the new additions to our Individual Travel products include coverage for:

 

  • Flight Delay Service
  • Trip cancellation or interruption
  • Baggage
  • Package Plus and Canada Package options
  • Visitors to Canada


These enhancements are in addition to existing Saskatchewan Blue Cross travel plans, which include features such as emergency medical care, accidental death or dismemberment coverage, and 24/7 access to travel assistance. 


Please note: These changes do not apply to Group Travel or VIP Travel plans. Clients can purchase an Individual plan with any of the above coverage options to supplement their Group or VIP Travel coverage.


New digital policy booklets will be distributed by email, and your clients will receive their new policy booklets when they purchase their travel plan.

Travel Enhancements Training

Please note that training on the travel enhancements is mandatory and will be required to continue selling Saskatchewan Blue Cross Travel insurance. If you have not already completed your training, please use the following link to watch the webinar on-demand. The course is eligible for two Continuing Education Credits, and a certificate of completion will be provided.

Clients can now purchase a Conversion plan instantly

With enhancements to the Online Customer Application (OCA) platform, your clients can now complete their purchase of a Conversion plan online in minutes. 


Key Details

  • Platform enhancements now allow Conversion plan applicants to complete payment and activate their plan in a single step, with no medical questionnaire required.
  • Clients can choose to have their coverage backdated to begin on the first of the current month, or begin on the first day of the following month. 
  • Clients have the opportunity to complete their annual payment on the spot using a credit card. Monthly payments and other payment methods are still available for clients who prefer not to pay annually.


These platform changes are activated automatically - simply log into your Individual Broker Portal and begin a new application. If your client answers 'yes' to the question of 'Have you or your partner left, or will you be leaving, an Employer Benefits Plan within 60 days?', their application will automatically be routed to the Conversion plan application flow.


This change helps to streamline the application process for your clients, making it seamless to apply for their Conversion health plan in minutes.


Applications for Blue Choice plans continue to follow the pre-existing application flow. Additional changes are planned for the Blue Choice application flow in the coming months - stay tuned for more details!
